Im ok with turning exp off while in cyrodiil. Also maybe a rank limit and no emperors. If people want to stay in the pre vr pvp so be it. why stop them?

I think everyone's forgetting three important facts here:

    1. Regardless of campaign, low levels will have to fight higher levels; whether that's 49 or VRXYZ. That's a fact of game design that isn't going away.

Yes but now they can deal with people similar to their level with the buff, and instead of dealing with people who know how to PVP they will primarily be surrounded by players with the same amount of PVP experience.

    2. People are already be able to create tricked out gear sets and play with that. That's also a fact of game design that's not going away. Turning off XP will only serve to keep that gear from becoming obsolete and the effort put into making it wasted after a short while.

No one is holding a gun to your head and telling you to make amazing sets of armor for your alt, that is a personal choice and you shouldn't use this as some sort of reason to be able to stop leveling.

    3. Lower level characters, whether lvl 10 or VRX, are currently getting roflstomped by higher levels. I went to Cyrodiil last night on a level 11 to do what I could do and yes, I died quickly and often. That's a fact of PVP; people who put the time in to improve their level, skills, and gear will beat people who aren't as skilled (character skills and personal gaming skill), are lower level, and/or aren't geared as well.

So you are saying that skill has a ton to do with PVP? Then advocate to have people be able to stay and destroy lowbies? This is meant to be a practice campaign.

This request isn't about wanting to "get my jollies off destroying lowbies". I don't know about you, but when I'm faced with a squad of incoming players I can't sit there and pick out an opponent based on level; the action's too fast and the people move around too much. I simply target the nearest player and go at it. Perhaps I'm being naive and idealistic thinking that there are a bunch of other people like me that do PVP for group battles and taking objectives rather than maliciously targeting people who can't fight back.

Congrats, I guess you aren't an elitist but I wasn't talking directly about you. All because you won't be playing the way I described, doesn't mean others will follow in your example.

All this to say that nothing.nothing...about the situation is going to change except there won't be VR level players in one of the five campaigns. Everything else is going to be the same; low levels will have to play against high levels.

Yes but at least here experienced players cannot stay forever due to XP gain, so low players will never have to deal with a huge influx of people who actually know what they're doing.

except thats not how it works.

EVERYONE in the Pre VR campaign will have VR1 stats

but the gear is the gear, level 49 gear is MUCH better than level 10. even if you all have 49 attributes

I'm ok with this, just turn of alliance point gain if you go xp off and disable emperor in pre vet campaigns.

    @‌Sheneria

That's a good trade-off. I'd gladly give up the chance to become Emperor (don't give a rat's sphincter about that) and would even be happy giving up the greater portion of AP gained, say 80% loss, as long as I've got enough to buy siege engines and repair kits here and there.

This request isn't about wanting a super-powerful character to use for wasting lvl 10s so I can feel better about myself. I could do that now with a VR character if I wanted. Truth be told, that's not something that interests me in the slightest. What excites me about this possibility is that people can make an alt and play through the best part of the game (1-49) with a purpose and clear goal. It's about improving replayability and engendering all of the positive aspects of PVP; competition, community, and cooperation in a stable and reliable (level-wise) environment

it may not be your purpose, but having a system where people can stay at 49 instead of leveling up to vr will ruin pvp for all the people who want actual equality/balance. many of the best abilities are acquired after morphing level 42 abilities which is you "pre vet end game" and not leveling will make it unfair to all the people who are leveling. this system is only good for people who want to dominate lower levels. if you want replayability make alt and only level in cryodill, when you get to vet, do it agian. dont ask to be able to stay more powerful than all new players.

Good morning everyone, hope you're doing well today. First off, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who's given constructive feedback either for or against the points I've brought up. Reading points against what I've said helps me to see a bigger picture than the image I have in my head based on my personality and how I play. I also appreciate the opportunity to bring up counter-points to your points arguing against XP-freezing. I may be in lala-land, but I'm hoping that somehow word of this thread is getting to people who are considering feedback and I hope that all my points in favor of XP-off are, or will be, at the very least considered. Like I said, that may be a fantasy, but one can hope, right?

With that in mind, I'd like to ask for clarification on a point some of you have brought up regarding higher level characters havingstronger skills (levels 43+?) than lower level players and that halting XP at 49 will somehow be unfair. If the point is balance and fairness/equality (inasmuch as is possible in a game like this) why are they not creating tighter brackets or putting the level 43+ in with the Vets? Is this yet another case of good intentions but terrible implementation?

The way I see it is characters levels 40-49 will already be in the campaign. In my mind this nullifies the argument of XP-locked level 40-49 characters being unfairly overpowered.

Could someone please help explain this for me? Maybe my brain isn't taking a detour along path and is missing something going from point A to point B. Is it because XP-locking could cause an eventual buildup of 49s in the campaign rather than there being a cycle of people joining a campaign then eventually leveling out?

    Thanks!

My request for an XP-off option is based on the desire to end a character's progression at a given point. I've got a VR12 main who I PVE and PVP with and keeping up with increasing levels and gear on one character is enough for me. I don't want to have to do that on all of my characters. That's a rat race/carrot-chase that I don't want to have to deal with at all times. The idea of having a character that will always be at a certain, consistent, level that I can hop on when I want to tool around is very appealing.
about the "players that put more time into it" part, you do realize, that at least half of the VR population, grinded to it, or used exploits to get to it, in 2 weeks right? is it really fair for someone, who has been playing for a month, and is lvl 40, to be outdone by a VR12 that power grinded it in 5 days? not saying all VR ppl did it, just something to think about.
