What armor sets do you recommend for this build?

  • I'm a level 48 Bosmer Nightblade. I'm focused more on a pve spec for VR. Pvp doesn't really interest me yet.
  • I use bow as primary and secondary weapons. One bar is set up for single target and the other for multiple target.
  • I use a mix of medium and light armor. I don't have any sets yet and I don't repair yet.
  • My attributes are all in health. I plan on passives and armor to boost stamina and magicka.
  • I'm also using the sign of the Shadow for the increase in crit damage, but am open to changing it for this build.
  • Use a good mix of CC and DPS. This build should be more defensive, so I shouldn't need to use any healing abilities.
  • My primary craft is enchanting. Secondary is clothing.

Abilities (multi-target):

1. Bombard
2. Volcanic Rune
3. Twisting Path
4. Manifestation of Terror
5. Scorched Earth
U. Veil of Blades

Single target bar:

1. Shadowy Diguise
2. Focused Aim
3. Dark Shades
4. Magnum Shot
5. Impale
U. Soul Assault

I've been told to get vestments of the warlock jewelry, but should I get the other two pieces for the 5 set passive and light armor passive? If I do this, I can also get a 5 set of medium armor if I use a bow set. I don't mind if it's a crafted or looted set. Please give me some suggestions.

Definitely the one where you get a big mana heal each minutes after going under 30%. I forget what it's called. You can get all 3 jewelry pieces for that alone. All magicka+regen too. Neck, ring, ring.

Vestments of the warlock. I'm definitely grabbing that one, but should I get the five piece set (jewelry, cowl, and dress)? I think I would get the light armor passive (prodigy) for using all five pieces (even though three are jewelry) but I'm not sure. If it is possible to get that passive, I can grab a five piece medium set to get the medium armor passive (agility). That leads to the next question. Which medium set would go well with this build?

No, jewelry does not count toward the 5 piece light set bonus from the passive.

    Well, fack.
So I'm forced to pretty much go all light then. I might throw on a 3 piece medium set that uses a bow then. Ok, so should I get five piece vestmants of warlock, a 3 piece medium set with bow, and another 3 piece light set? Or should I get 3 piece Vestments of warlock(just jewelry), a five piece light set, and a 3 piece medium set with bow?

Weapon speed increases like Haste and the medium passive do not seem to work with bow at the moment, so unless they've stealth fixed it somewhere the 5 piece medium isn't helping you other than the other medium passives.

Bow uses weapon crit/damage, your class skills use spell crit/damage (with few notable exceptions). Try to find a happy medium somewhere and know that you won't be doing max dps unless you go 7/7 light with a staff because Stamina builds are broken for the most part across the board in comparison.

Yeah typical NB build (nothing wrong with that though)
But as one of the other guys said you need mana/magicka buffs. So go all light armour and use the 'Warlock Set' give a 33% to mana every minute when your mana is low.
Better yet use the 3 pieces of Warlock jewellery, that way you can still go for a 3/5 piece gear set too !

    ;)

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.
