So I ground out vet rank 12...

and I have to say I am pretty unhappy.

I was doing regular content up to vet rank 7, then stuff got pretty hard as a melee DK, so I went and hit up Craglorn and got vet rank 12. Went back to continue the Vet 7 quest and its pretty much no different.. I am still getting *** by melee mobs.

Its like armor has little to no effect what so ever. I have full crafted purples, all 7 pieces heavy, making my armor over capped. I have right around 2k health. I charge in to 2 melee mobs pop razor armor.. and I get hit for 693 from a heavy attack.. 1/3 of my health. I took all my armor off.. ran back in to the same 2 mobs.. same heavy attack hit me for 913..

I could understand if these were even level mobs.. but 5 levels under me and still getting hit that hard is a tad ridiculous..

I dont understand the game concept of making alot of quests that once I do them, I cant help other people because we end up in different phases. So make an MMO hard to solo.. and harder to group..

blocking is your friend. charging into 2 melee not such a good idea.

Move around them, make them retarget you. Stun, knockdown, CC.


Every class has the ability to fight one mob at a time even in large groups

You did not say you where blocking and that damage sounds about right if not blocked. You know how much dmg I take if not blocked? I'm vt11 full purp/gold and I take about 1300 dmg, from mobs much lower lvl then me. Should not have an issue with the dk, it's by far the most powerful class in the game.

What are those numbers while you are blocking?

You realize that this game level 20 mobs can kill a vr12 right? The time of being able to /faceroll content simply because you outlevel it by a ton has come to an end. This game is not that game.

yes a full set of heavy armor should mitigate more than 26%..

How come you only have 2k health? At least grab a fortified mud crab cake before charging into mobs.

btw, The reward for each V rank is not high enough to give you massive difference between v7 and v12.

Its not the end of the journey by any means. Also, you exploited the mechanics of the game to get to the "end". Spend more time learning how to play the game and less time trying to get the "end" and you will die less. A lot less.

me as a vet 3 taking on 3 vet 11 every day. so that logic fails. Do I love this game? Yeah I do. Do I understand it has its flaws and faults? Of course I'm not an idiot.

I am simply saying that 26% damage mitigation is a freakin lot. If I hit you 100 times as hard as I could and you could do something that made 26 of those hits not matter thats significant.

Best luck out there with trash mobs, 40 minutes ago, Eastmarch VR9 trash quest mobs, after taking 800+ from dark talons, the mob insta-killed me with the 1700+ Fiery Breath - I have over 2200 hp health, 1800 armor, using 1h/shield, was blocking wile stuck in the talons... I would love having that skills on my DK... wait... I have! Unfortunately for me, I can't do that much damage with that same skills, not to talk one take 4 seconds and the other 10 seconds to do full damage, they are all DoT on my DK.

You shouldnt be hit from a heavy attack in PVE, they are slow and easy to block.
If a vr12 NB can survive three vr12 mobs you have no excuse as a vr12 DK against three vr6 mobs.

This is an issue with the death recap. That is a DOT skill that is showing you the entire DOT tick, it did 1700 damage total to you over X amount of seconds, it just shows you the entire damage from the DOT.

They have said they are going to change that to reflect the actual damage ticks and not the whole shebang soon.

Is fiery breath not interruptable? How about dodgeable?

By Vet rank 1 you should know all the tells for blocks, interrupts, and dodges. There's yellow spark looking things coming out of the NPC for a block, red sparks for interrupts, and big *** red circles on the ground for "dodge this". How much more hand holding do you people need?

and heal better, the mob healers are healing for 2k in 2 seconds.
