What will be zenimax's next broken promise from before release?

They already broke their play your way promise, when they killed off tanking and forced everyone to roll light armor and staff. They are now breaking the crafted gear will always be best promise as the upcoming patches will introduce drops that are superior to crafted. What broken promise is going to happen next?

No one is forced to roll light armor and staff. My main and next highest characters do not use those. I've only played my light armor/staff character to level 14 and I don't really care for it. They could stand to adjust things a bit, however.

Launch was anything but polished, I agree. I think all of us playing beta knew the game was launching prematurely.

Pro tip: When creating a thread complaining about the competency of a company, you kind of undermine your point when the title looks like it was typed by a monkey on acid.

Yes, you are forced as else you do 20% less dps. Obviously this make it theoretical unplayable.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Well you have to admit this is sort of funny. The road ahead post this poster is complaining about, that threatens crafting, is the same road ahead post that has a picture of the european server. Or a server they claim is The european server. Im not trying to be racist but all server rooms look the same to me.

Nonsense. My guild has a bunch of VR12 heavy and medium non-staff users. After reading the whining on the forums I asked people who have actually done it. The consensus is that it is certainly doable, though more challenging. You aren't forced to change. If you want easy mode, it's there for you. Others are doing fine without it.

True. There's that little bit of space between the wayshrine and the next mob pack that you can wander round penniless whilst wearing broken armor.

For me, I found that on both builds ive used for my character, My old Imperial Dk basher which has had to be converted to a Imperial Pyro Dk for playability, I only used 3 pieces of a crafted set on each build. And both were for Regeneration purposes only. Almost all of the Crafted set items in this game suck anyways, The set pieces that drop in the world/dungeons are already far superior to anything you can craft. They need to improve Crafting station set pieces because they are really subpar compared to the rest. Also, Pact's set pieces are really trashy too. The only benefit to a pact piece is that it can be Enchanted, but they are still pretty trashy im my opinion. I like this Warlock set that drops from monsters, and I don't even see 1 set from a crafting station that can even come close to competing with it. I remember them saying in the beginning that crafted set pieces would be the most powerful set pieces in the game. Well, there not. They are subpar gap fillers. That's just my opinion though. Have a nice day.

There's something about the nature of gamers (or maybe humans generally) that makes it impossible for some to simply point out issues in a rational manner rather than summoning up all of the melodrama of a bunch of preteens at a slumber party and going straight to "omg this is unplayable."

Humorous, really. But trying to talk sense to such people is about as productive as trying to teach algebra to a stone.

When you don't like design choices, that doesn't mean that a promise was broken. That just means that you don't like the choices.

    Over-dramatic thread is over-dramatic.

I have never once seen this posted in game. Therefore, you are overreacting to what could be a slight imbalance, and more likely just the fact that melee builds will require a non-cookie cutter spec that may take some creativity.

Yes, yes, we all get it. I'm a fanboy because I don't get unreasonably angry over having to adjust to new skill/class mechanics and all that. I'm very, very sorry, and I've slapped my wrist for being such a bad boy.

I agree with the play your way but never in a million years did they promise crafted was going to be the best gear in game. they said some of the crafted gear would be as good as the best gear in game. I followed this game for 2 years prior to release and visited the unofficial forums every day. they never ever said those words or promised that.
But in reguards to the light armor magica builds across the board being the most powerful in every class and no real stamina or health builds being viable Zos can eat a *** . they have no control over their end game currently and have no clue in which direction they are going to balance.

True, because its usually Sorc/DK only. Destro or restro staff. Or the twist with "NO MELEE!" :)

-ZoS hasn't forced anyone to wear Light Armor and use a Staff, some players CHOSE that.
-Crafting gear was never promised to be the best, and you need to use your superior crafting ability to improve the dropped armor to the best. Players USE very good crafted gear until they obtain the superior dropped set pcs and get them fully improved.
-Dropped gear has been superior to crafted since the beginning, for the 1.2 patch notes Zos is referring to EVEN BETTER dropped set items than what we have now. Pretty much everyone runs with 'Of the Warlock'.

    -Obvious Troll is obvious.

..What?!.. You don't make any good points. You can still play the way you want. They have not "forced" anyone to use light armor and staff and I see countless people in game that don't, so you sir are a lier. And about the crafted gear, who cares? Not everyone crafts or likes to so why should they be left out on good gear?

And I don't don't think they even said the word "promise".. Did they? Show me where they ever promised anything. As a major gaming company I can assure you they choose their words wisely and have never once promised anything.

You only are forced to use light armor and staff if you want your character to feel powerful.

    "Play the way you want"

This one is obviously false. I have yet to find the mechanic that allows me to reverse pick-pocket frosting into another player's pocket.

    Think of the frosting, Zenimax.
