1) Those are pre-order numbers only.
2) They don't cite a source, and since Zenimax hasn't released those numbers, that means they're making them up.

I couldn't find anything saying they were pre-order numbers.

How do you know its pre-order number only?
All I know is I has 5 guilds ,and the amount of brayed out slots representing those who don't log in verses those in tha guild that are logged in is massive, the exodus hasn't begun, it's happened, it's done.
So in other words: Me and my 3 friends that preordered it online are not even owning the game per this site?As far as I know, that website only has access to the number of hard box copies sold in stores. I don't believe Zenimax reports to them nor do they have access to the amount of copies sold on Zenimax' website.
At least that's what I gathered from Reddit where others were also refering to the vgchartz numbers.
The other day I came across a site that stated the total ESO sales (as of May 24th) were only .39 million. That includes all world wide sales in both digital and disk.
.39 million isn’t a whole lot. And unless those figures are incorrect ESO may not have much of a future at all.
Since launch (and even in beta) ESO has been plagued with problems. However, I have seen improvements worthy of a “thumbs-up”. And with that I have been inviting others I know to join in.
I haven’t given up my faith in ZOS / Bethesda simply because of what has been put out in the past. The entire Elder Scrolls chain has been awesome for me, and I can only hope that ESO will be just as equal, if not more.
ESO has the potential to be one of the greatest MMOs ever created. We just have to have some patients. As the old saying goes “Rome wasn’t built in a day”.
Despite it’s downfalls (and sometimes poor customer support) ESO is still a great concept with a great staff.
Every day I hear how people are quitting. I wish them well. Personally I’m in it for the long haul. I am hoping for good things ahead. I want those numbers to rise so that we can claim the title “king of the hill”. It can happen.
Who's with me?
vgchartz only uses data they get, unless the publisher gives out data they uses sales from retail stores.nerevarine1138 wrote: »nerevarine1138 wrote: »

Because I can read.
Look at the dates for the made-up numbers. They only list 4/4, and the 5/24 date doesn't actually cite a difference in numbers. They don't list a developer, and they don't list where they got their sales numbers.
It doesn't matter if the site is simply set up badly and they intended their numbers to reflect pre-orders plus global sales to 5/24- the numbers are entirely imaginary.

No one. ESO has dug its own grave with the decisions its made. Even Forbes magazine has issued a review and investor warning to stay away. We all know the list of problems. Thinking back to its development and press releases during that time deciding to chase after CCP/SONY and try for a duel platform MMO was a bridge to far. The E3expo is the superbowl event for the gaming industry and marketing everyone will be there with the best new products. E3 pulls live T.V. and Cable coverage and the international press will be there as well. This train wreck will be talked about and reviewed at length you can bet on it. ESO is headed for the discount bin/f2p if they are lucky that will be the worst of it.

Pathetic
This is why I hate blogs. They get the weight of the major publisher's name backing up their ridiculous posts in order to make ignorant readers take them more seriously.
According to "Forbes" (read: a dumb blogger on their site), Blizzard's authenticators were compromised during the D3 launch. Of course, the writer didn't actually have a real authenticator, but darn it all, what do facts matter when you're muckraking?
