Excerpt from the "Road Ahead"

•The Dragonknight is still a bit stronger than intended, and we’ll be making some small changes over time to the class. Our intent—no matter what you read on the internet—is not to nerf DKs into Oblivion (so to speak), but to continue tweaking them until they are in line with the survivability of the other classes.

"Until they are in line with the Survivability of the other classes"

This is mind boggling to me, instead of fixing the two WORST classes in the game, Templar and NightBlade...they are going to systematically tear every class down to that level. There is nothing about addressing the weakness of other armors, or other weapons beyond light armor and a staff builds. There is little discussion of "boosting" Nightblades, and not a word about Templars (other than an apology for the ninja nerf)

Zenimax, I am sorry, but you have the worst case of tunnel-vision I have ever seen in a game developer. I am so glad I parked my DK as a perma-crafter, and rolled a Templar. Maybe I will revisit the class once you are done demolishing it, and inturn ignoring the aspects of the game that are hurting everyone. Tweak the DK's all you want, but stop playing ignorant to every other aspect of the game that hits EVERY CLASS (like anything related to Stamina weapon builds).

Gyxx (VR1) Templar
Quidd (VR5) Nightblade
Kadzien (15) Sorc
Covyn (VR12) DragonKnight (now spends his days crafting)

I have to say, if they keep nerfing every class and every skill down to the lowest level, it won't be worth it to play anymore.

Because that's what they will do right? A game company is going to make their character classes so painful to play? /sarcasm

What is with you people? This is currently equivalent to WoW vanilla, which it's currently miles ahead of. And you cry about everything. Learn some patience. You're getting more communication back from their Dev team than any other MMO I have ever seen before. They clearly know there are issues and have stated such. At least be creative with your hate.

This is the same mistake they made in gw2 with the eles at launch. They nerfed ele into the ground and kept buffing other classes until they were all OP. Then classes like ele couldn't compete.

BUFF THE OTHER CLASSES TO BE ON LEVEL WITH DK!!!!!!!!!!! Do not nerf DK to balance the field. Buff the rest to DKs level to even the field and then tweak from there.

What planet you all been on lately? You CAN'T buff up classes to a level that was mistakenly set too high and thus compound the mistake, otherwise have a major gap in progression in the game and run the risk of classes now zooming through existing content that much quicker, giving them less time to develop and besides they run out of level headroom that much faster and ...oh never mind.

THINK before you post such nonsense.

    This is bad news.

If DK is broken, then the game is just not fun. DK is the only class that works correctly if you ask me. Well, sorcs too, but no thanks on dresses.

If the vision is for everyone to be weak magicka users, its just not going to be for me.

Well this, erm, well, something , has the equivalence to a kindergarten something. It goes basically like this:

You have some kids that are screaming over a box of toys. There are several toys in the box and there's enough for everyone. But this one kid starts grabbing all the toys, crying them to be his. The other kid now wants that toy, and goes for it, leaving the 2 of them in a bashing, each screaming at each other (eventually, one getting hurt). One kid stands on the side line and cries for no apparent reason, and the last kid sits with a jar of clay, munching at pieces and are oblivious to what's going on. Then you have the poor adult responsible for this, who now have to get one kid to stop eating clay, figure out why one kid is crying for no reason, and then sort out the 2 kids that don't want to share the toy box.

And this people, is basically what you're doing on the forums.

This game is 10 years newer than WoW...so yes it should be ahead of where WoW vanilla was.

This game only has 4 classes to worry about and the devs can't even handle that.

Very personal no need I suggest you edit

Second thing OP makes a strong point in a rational way - I agree with OP and many others do

Alex this incorrect I purchased two months sub - when that ends I need to make a decision do I continue this game or go back to another MMO and dump it - I want to know what they have in mind given so far this game is not for people who play melee, tank, and use armor. So ....

So, this is how the dev team responds to all the cries for nerfs. Well, all the whiners will have their whims obliged. Instead of fixing the many bugs that still permeate every class and many skill lines, the cycle of nerfs will begin. Be careful what you wish for.

It's like the other astute comment, the one about sawing off the table legs. Zenimax is apparently devoted to a "nerf to least common denominator" theory instead of a "make every class equally viable" idea.

My theory: because they're either lazy, in too much of a hurry, or don't know what they're doing, and nerf nerf nerf is a much simpler thing to do.

I love this game. I really do, despite all my grousing. But I have completely lost faith that Zenimax has the slightest idea what they're doing. And I don't just say that because my DK is my only (PvE) char who can actually walk into a quest with a reasonable expectation of survival if I don't play stupidly.

All the community has to do is stop being jerks about only DK/Sorcs being good dps for trials. Learn to cooperate with other classes instead of asking to be nerfed...into oblivion.
  • stevenpotter321b14_ESO
They tried to cooperate, but only seeing the little marker where dk/sorcs were supposed to be left them further enraged.
  • james_vestbergb16_ESO
Personally I dont understand why it is "common knowledge" that the DK is OP. I play a vet9 DK tank and in PvE I struggle just as much as the other classes, specially against more than 2 mobs. I use the FOTM build, I guess, If that is puncture, searing, invasion, cinder, greendragon and corrosive.
I switch some skills per situation and I never feel OP in any way. In PvP I have to say that I def. don't see an issue with any particular CLASS, but instead the most obvious issue, and what the devs sofar havent even mentioned, is the way stamina works, beeing fuel for EVERYTHING. If anything is OP its the pure Magicka builds, dont matter if ur DK, NB or whatever.

Those spam trains of destro/resto staff wielders that roam cyrodiil Point out such a clear issue yet the devs dont touch it.

The "poor adult" knew well before hand that he would be in charge of watching four children and deliberately chose not to supply enough toys for each of them for no apparent reason.

The children keep asking this negligent daycare worker to get more toys for next time - their parents each pay him more than enough to watch them - but he doesn't even respond.

Instead he randomly selects objects - an empty bottle, a waste bin, a towel, an old pair of woman's shoes - and gives them to the children with an expression that asks "will this work?" but still never makes any effort to communicate. The children respond "No, why would you think that they would? Those aren't toys at all! Please, just listen to us! We want toys, why won't you just give us toys? It would take no more effort than simply to hear what we have to say to rectify this situation!" The daycare says nothing, dumps the objects on the floor, and walks away.

When the children somehow finally find a way to turn the empty bottle, the waste bin, the towel, and the pair of shoes into a fun game involving the toys they do have, the daycare worker rushes over to their play area and takes the other toys away. "Why did you take our toys away?" the children ask. The daycare worker does not give them an answer.

If ONE class is stronger(way stronger) than they intended based on the difficulty of the content.. then why on earth would you spend the time to buff all 3 other characters AND make ALL the content in the game harder to compensate. How in anyone's mind is that a logical solution.
