Not ever.
No way.
Because lore-breaking stupidity for the sake of appealing to people who'd rather play WoW is NEVER a good idea.
Any monster shouldn't be an option. But some? Absolutely. Even if they're just cosmetic. It would be a good opportunity to add more variety to the animals in the game, make some that could realistically be tamed (think shalk, not ogres)
Yea I don't see an issue with vanity pets, but nothing like ogres or trolls for sure. When tamable pets do damage or tamable mounts are as good/better than store bought mounts is where things get ugly.
That's why if they do it, it should be Skill line like Vamp or Werewolf, or better yet like a crafting skill. You have to make an investment to tame something nice. Also if they wanted to steal from SWG, they could also make so you need to learn special moves from other animals to train your pet.

it s not something i am waiting for, I don t need a vanity pet standing around to watch me and to do nothing... i want to have a wild friend who s living all adventures with me, not a summon, MY PET, the one I choosed because i find it cool or funny or cute or whatever.

So... Pokémon?

I know that you want make me ridiculous but my idea is a good idea and i feel like it. Where your brain see pokemon i see mononoke with wolves or gandalf's eagles... we can imagine a kind of druid power allowing you an understanding of nature with the opportunity to have ONLY 1 pet following you even if you have 50 pets waiting for you in your stable, you can only bring one with you.

If we cant have a humanoid NPC , then atleast a pet would be nice.
nerevarine1138 wrote: »Between this and your "More cartoonish weapons, please!" thread, I have to believe that you are literally looking for a WoW-clone. Because every feature you seem to want is already in that game.

I also liked how FFXI had Adventuring Fellows. You could customize armor, look, species, and then have them level up with you, playing a designated role (tank, DPS, healer).

No. This whole "WoW has something like this, therefore everyone is a WoW clone" stuff needs to stop. It's just silly.
"They want swords? What is this, WoW?"
"They want Pokemon? What is this, WoW?"
It doesn't even make sense!
Also, can we stop abusing "literally"? Here, it's extraneous and redundant. Other times, people don't mean "literally" at all, they mean "figuratively".

No, the OP wants swords that are in the style of more fantastical cartoonish games... like WoW.
They also want to be able to tame and use any animal in the game for combat. Like... wait for it... hold... hoooollllld... WoW.
When every thread you make is a call for this game to be more like a particularly popular MMO, then yes, you're asking for a WoW-clone. Literally.
No, sorry. I play ESO to get away from this sort of thing.

Can you please stop speaking about WoW ...? you are really obsessed by WoW aren t you ?
I never played to WoW and i don t want to. You are so blind to see that the possibility to have a pet is not a WoW or pokemon exclusivity and it has a sense to be able to do this in a "free" world ??? Some peoples have a lyon or a tiger as pet IN REAL LIFE, why can t we do this in TESO ??? hmm wait, no reasons
