Should the game be more cosmetic?

Like to see the game progress on its current path but change how armor/weapon passives work
I think unfortunately its far to easy to assume that removing the limitations will help balance things. It will change nothing other then people wont have to respec to play their DK destro staff build.

Balance is balance. while there are definite differences between a class based systems balance, and a classless balance, they both need balance. skill disparities would still exist. melee players in this game would still suffer due to horrible balance in the stamina system and horrible skill designs in the weapon systems.

Unfortunately, At this point, I think the only thing that removing classes would do is put another project on the desk of already overworked Dev's. We need to take what they have, and make it work. it is workable. If we drop classes, we would still be going through the exact same challenges in balance and game design we are now.

Actually we'd be doing even more, since the class limitation system allows them to set up skills within the class to synergize with each other, and they don't have to worry about the other classes skills. The second you throw that gating away, you suddenly have huge balance issues in areas you didn't have them before (could you imagine a player with the DK's fire tree...the Temps healing tree...the Sorcs passive regen capabilities, with the destro staff as a weapon? jeez...I think even molag bal would hesitate coming out of his cave facing that).

The game is not in a good enough position IMO that they can lightly consider broad sweeping mechanics changes such as this. this would have been a much more realistic reality in Alpha, or even in early Beta. Far too late now.

I'm still pissed I can only remember what I know some of the time. I should have enough skill bars and skill bar slots to put in 100 skills. Like every other MMO that ever used a keyboard.

Stop gimping my memory and limiting me based on terrible GUI programming. Consoles be damned.

That has nothing to do with consoles. It's a design choice that forces you to use strategy in choosing what goes on your bar.

I dont mind if they chance the passives, but its not necessary.

Removing character progression and choices is a JOKE, right?

Like to see class, armor, weapon imbalance taken away by making everyone able to use any skill from any class/weapon/passive

    I agree

The game I think is too far at this point. I would've loved for it to be an open skill classless game at the start. I still have high hopes for the game and still enjoy it.

I'm hoping the least we can get I a proper costume/outfits tab. Yes I'm stuck in light armor for magicka regen. But why can't I throw on some crafted armor over my current armor just for the looks?

No one said anything about removing progression and choices. If that's what you think people mean by removing classes then you're mistaken. That simply means that instead of everyone being forced to pick a certain class because they like x skills from said class, you can now create a character and pick and choose from all 12 of the class trees and mix and match the skills as you see fit. Giving you more options and a wider variety of builds.

But the game is already released and I know something like that wouldn't happen at this point. It would've meant a better longevity for the game.

Indeed! And I love it that way.
Hate those MMOs with a houndred bars full of skills, of which I use only about 10 anyway. *lol*

Deck- or buildbased MMOs are more my kind.
