Is it the horse? I mean ok whatever. Anyone who has played a F2P game knows what micro transactions really are. are these just people trying to get people not to play ESO cause they like WOW, or am i missing something in this game

I think people see the horse as a sign of things to come. I don't think that's unfair.

People saw the horse and I guess they freaked out. We will probably see armor dyes, etc. when that system is implemented, but honestly, it's not like this is EA here with SWTOR haha.

Micro-transactions are spending real cash to buy minor boosts.

ESO does not have micro-transactions, any reviewer who think it does has is a moron. We have an Imperial version upgrade, and I think someone in another thread said we can buy a horse from the cash shop.

All the other products in the cash shop are real items. Not going to comment on the gold-selling sites.

Because journalists don't bother to look up facts and do research?
Also were these legitimate gaming sites with real journalists or someone unpaid who considers himself a journalist?

Actually I loved the Cartel Shop with Swtor, I only spent the Cartel Coins that I got with my subscription, and there were some great items I got.

I will however admit that the Cartel Market destroyed crafting, it anihilated Artifice outright, and pretty much damaged every other crafting except Biochem.

But I had some great outfits from the Cartel Market, but the best on my agent was a random drop, and I never changed that.

SWTOR's Cartel Sore ruined the game for me.
There was nothing worth hunting for or working for left in the game, because all the armours people would have invested hundreds of hours for ended up as a simple credit card purchase.

I don't have a problem with F2P or micro-transactions but they should never be items that are better stat wise or appearance wise than content which takes effort to achieve in the game.

like it or not the Horse is a micro-transaction. Real cash for an in-game item in a subscription based game.

They were testing the waters with the Imperial Edition and then the horse or the Imperial upgrade. Apparently many are ok with it as there are Imperial horses everywhere. Me, not ok with it. So I didn't support the Imperial Edition.

I did give in to pre order however to play any race in any alliance but that's a little different (although everybody or nobody should have this option imo).

As I said I personally only used CC gained from my sub, never could understand anyone actually paying for the stuff, even if some of it looked good.

And I agree about in game items being better than stuff you can buy, you should always get better items for playing.

Same reason I didn't buy the Imperial Edition.

These articles you mention, what date were they published? Prior to launch there was some concern about them going this route. Post launch I would say the so-called journalist is an idiot.

That stupid cash shop horse. 100% waste of real money. It is just a crappy 17.2k gold type horse, not even one of the good ones. I had 30k gold when I hit Level 10, when you can first use an in-game purchased mount, so no big deal. Biggest rip-off in MMO cash shop history, in my opinion.

17,200 gold times 8 toons so not bad at all. The Imperial upgrade isn't the purchase I regret.

Ya, if you are going to actually play 8 characters worth of time in ESO, IE is a good buy. For myself, one may do it.
