When Matt Firor promised us a lag-free experience I really thought this game was going to push the boundaries further in terms of low latency action combat in MMO's and thus justifying paying a monthly subscription for this game.
With that in mind, Cyrodill in it's current state is nothing short of a bad joke. On the EU megaserver there are only a few moments where the ability lag drops below 2 seconds (which is still very much unacceptable) and most of the time it's sitting anywhere between 3 - 5 seconds. I've also lost count of all the moments where the lag was so intense my character just stopped responding all together. Coming from Guild Wars 2, this game feels like I'm back to playing on my 56k modem, over fifteen years ago. Even that was a better experience than this.
I think everyone can agree that this is unacceptable for today's standards and not really worth paying a subscription for either.
Please ZOS, do something to combat this insane lag and save your game before it's too late. The concept of Cyrodiil is nice, but nobody is going to put up with gameplay standards from the 20th century anymore. I think the campaign population indicators are speaking for themselves in that regard.
