You may want to re-evaluate your spec/gear. Plan your pulls. Use CC and defensive skills, block, interrupt, etc. If you happen to play a NB, hope for some fixes in 1.2 (or ask around for a working build). You shouldn't have trouble with regular mobs (since the fix to their Craglorn patch).

I play a VR8 sorc and I have soloed every non-dungeon quest, about 40% of the WBs and about 40-60% of public dungeons, but have yet to solo a dolmen. I'm sure some DK out there has soloed many dolmens.

Mistakes lead to death, in most games, ESO is no different. Just know what you can handle and what you need a group for.

Wake me from my troubled slumber, yet another Sorc saying L2P.

If Zenimax ninja nerfed Sorcs and DKs or remained as unresponsive as they have regarding Templars and NBs we would see blood flowing in the proverbial forum streets.

Try playing without crystal shards, dark exchange or bolt escape. I hope they balance all classes including Sorcs and DKs soon so you can feel the cold reality that others have been forced to suffer.

Solo a Dolmen, give me a break, I'd be happy to be able to solo more than two VR6 mobs without it being a coin toss.

Zenimax destroyed Templar resource management and ninja nerfed main sources of DPS without any collective outcry from the player base in support of an immediate repeal or resolution.

The precedents they established in absentia of community solidarity will be predicated upon the other classes. Sorcs and DKs your time will come.

VR is definitely a slog. I certainly find myself navigating around 3-piece mobs, particularly if they have a healer/mender. And though being flexible with my character build/preparing well is important, luck, or no luck at all, plays a significant role in whether I survive or not.

For example, I'd say 80% or more of the time my character expires, it is due to aggro-ing multiple mobs. Sometimes that's my own fault (or the enemies push/knock me into their buds), but most of the time the mobs are so clustered together and have been previously cleared 30 seconds ago by other players; a fact unknown to me, entering the cave room for the first time. I can survey the battlefield all I like, but the areas where mobs are respawning seconds after they're downed makes for chaos. I especially adore clearing a quest boss and his minions, being enticed with and succumbing to the lure of a journal page, read the first paragraph, and get re-ambushed by the same boss and minions. I hope they'll fix Eidetic memory. Until then, reading many of the bits of lore in the world is a substantial challenge in and of itself.

For my part, I accept this as an inevitable result of the game's mostly non-instanced design. I categorize these deaths as "getting bullsh**ted" and try to find a spot in the room where I can more effectively segregate the mobs once I revive.

Surviving these encounters is satisfying, though.

Really? In Skyrim, one minute I will kill a dragon with ease, and the next I will run into Bandit Chief the Randomly Leveled, King of One Shots, Lord of Two Handed Power Attacks, and Taker of One-Hundred Arrows.

Oh the random road bandits in full daedric armor in Oblivion...
    Such memories

I can honestly say I never felt more powerful in Oblivion or Skyrim as I leveled up, but rather more felt the mobs were more powerful - I became much, much, much more cautious about how I approached battles the higher level I got.
The only negative experience in ESO is those that make it negative.

Skyrim and Morrowind, I definitely felt more powerful as I leveled, but Oblivion would level some of the creature types to you. I remember visiting a goblin cave at level 43, with 95% damage reflection, and still having a challenging time when the whole clan came calling. "Azura aid me in my darkest h..."

Meanwhile, Mehrunes Dagon dismisses all his Dremora, and pleads for a new alliance with the Bonebreaker Clan.

I think the recent change of minimap icons to differentiate public/group dungeons (the single torch, the torch and sword and the two torches in a cross) is an example where it wasn't very obvious to players that these were different types of content and that the difficulty could spike depending on which one you entered. They all look and feel ES, but from an MMO standpoint a solo player may not be able to handle the content by themselves.

I think you can tell it's been a struggle to get a fine balance between making it an original ES game while providing it in the form of MMO content. End game for a lot of friends I know is achievements and PvP (when it's working). They want to see arena's and smaller scale PvP. I want to be able to interact with all factions in some way outside of PvP, like neutral zones. I really enjoy questing in contested territories. I'd also like to see them try new things in the MMO market, don't be afraid to take a risk and try something non-standard. The only unique content in the game so far is ES content, but the MMO portion is pretty standard. It's not easy to just come up with a new idea, but it would be nice to see something.

I get excited when I think about potential playable races in the future, there's a super post on the possibilities for crafting. There's so much that can happen with ESO, unfortunately time is going to tell where it goes.

I play a Nightblade. I am currently VR8. I have no problem with zone mobs or solo dungeons. I have tons of problems however with quest bosses. You know those bosses at the end of questline that appear to be no tougher than a solo dungeon boss. Well I cannot beat those most of the time and since you cannot take anyone in with you for help that has left me with a lot of unfinished quests.

The mob balancing in this game is seriously questionable. I should have problems with solo dungeon bosses, not quest finish bosses. So yeah. There it is.

... You just find someone there and join up when they are synched to start the boss fight. I had to do that on Septima Tharn and almost did it for Casia Varo which I manged to beat by some weird technicality.

I shouldn't have to look for someone on the exact leg of the quest I am on. In the later VR zones they are ghost towns now so it really is not an option.

At level 10 I remember once I aggroed like 8 mobs on accident and was amazed that somehow I lived but at VR 8 if I aggro 3 there is a 50/50 chance I die. Hopefully before I do I am lucky enough to take a mob down with me so the next time I pull they will be less likely to kill me.
You see the problem here? I consider myself a pretty skilled gamer and a seasoned MMO vet. The mobs on this game don't require skill to kill, they require luck.

So basically you want easy mobs to roll over and you seriously think that is more fun to play? You call your self a pretty skilled gamer but your requirements are more like nerf player thinking, strategy and tactics.
The mob respawn to fast! I don't know how many times I have died because the mobs spawn right under me while I am attacking another pack.

This is why you have to nerf the VR mobs!!! I am not saying nerf the raids, keep those hard as well as the VR dungeons. They should be hard however solo questing shouldn't feel harder vet rank than they do at regular levels! Just nerf the mobs damage further!

I strongly disagree because in this case the root of your described problem is the spawntime and not the mobs ...
I can't make gold anymore because i spend it all on repair bills. I don't believe this is working as intended and if it is then you should reconsider because the frustration will keep a lot less patient people than myself away from the game.

Armor decay is a different story and has nothing todo with Vet mobs either.

I know where you coming from but there are many other places which are easy and it shouldn't be a problem for a skilled gamer like you to make money. ;)

Sorry, but i am honest many of your complaints are a bad excuse for something else. With this background you cannot expect that any developer will find a valid point to change Vet mobs. I agree that certain mobs are more difficult but doable.

Its not the goal to make players feel frustrated but 50+ content should be a bit more challenging and not a boring anytimer run through.

I have a playstyle that has served me well enough in other games, and that I expect to serve me here. I do not play glass cannons, spellcasters, or healers by preference. I build for survival: heavy armor, specializing in killing things with weapons. I don't expect to be the fastest at killing or the fastest at levelling; what I expect is to be the last person standing at the end of the fight.

This is where the game is too difficult and breaks. It may be easier for people who use magicka to deal damage, but that isn't the character I wanted. I've emphasized the skills (1h/shield, 2h weapon, blacksmithing, points to health and stamina though I did not neglect magicka completely) that go with this preferred style. I'm not going to rip all that out so I can do what I was apparently supposed to do and level destro staff.

I'd play an alt, but I'd rather cut off a finger than have to fight Doshia, Gutripper, Lyris Doppelganger, or Mannimarco again.

I'm afraid it's simply true: the bash nerf broke the one melee line that was actually working. Now I try to avoid spawns with three mobs, at least if one of them's a healer, caster, or archer. I can't take them all down and remain standing reliably unless my ultimate is up. I can actually do well enough against undead/Daedra thanks to fighter's guild, but ordinary mortal mobs are rather tedious. And I understand it gets worse the farther into VR levels you go. Unless something happens reasonably quickly I'm not sure the game will hold my interest that much longer.
