I think that the inherent problem lies with the fact that the game was probably released too early. When I was playing the beta, I loved it but I always secretly hoped that they would postpone the release of the game until autumn or winter of this year, have more extensive beta tests, work out the bugs and issues and whatnot. Because ESO *Could* be absolutely beautiful.

Let's also face the fact that a large chunk of the gaming community was dead against this game from the word "go". I saw it everywhere. People willing it to fail hard even when it was still in development.

Programming a game of this size is hard. Ironing out all of the problems even more so, and that will frustrate people. I understand that greatly. This leads to knee jerk reactions, outpouring of anger, people quitting etcetera.

Zenimax are going to have to work *really* hard to keep this game up and going. They are going to have to do a lot of fixing. They need to keep players interested. And let's face it, the devs are only human. They can only work so many hours in a day to do all of this. So people are also going to have to be a little patient here. It's not even the third month of the game. There have been MMO launches much worse than this, and people forget that. They only remember the anger they have right now at this point in time at this game.

I like to hope this game has a future, as I love Elder Scrolls, and an ever growing Tamriel appeals to me greatly.

Either that or Sheogorath is going to come and turn us all into goats with the wabbajack. One or the other.

Yeah this spot on, final fantasy did this afther there launch failed and It did the game alot of good.

FF14 1.0 was in far worse shape than ESO is.

What I do understand is all the criticism on the number of bugs, dupes, and other issues.

What I don't understand is all the criticism that applies to many other MMOs in general (ex. lack of housing).

The game is more than playable and more than enjoyable. However, I do believe Zenimax needs to take a number of plays from Yoshida's playbook. The biggest is just being open and honest with your player base.

I do not like the issues the game has right now, but I have faith that it will work out in the end.
