Distinguish Between Moderator Posts and Dev Posts?

I often click on a thread because I see the little ZOS symbol next to it, indicating that a developer has responded. Usually its because there is some game issue that I'm interested in and I enjoy seeing ZOS's response, even if its something as simple as "we're working on it."

Nothing is more disheartening than seeing, rather than being an actual ZOS post related to the game, that some moderator has commented to indicate that a thread is being moved or to remind us to read the code of conduct.

I get that its their job and that's fine and dandy.

But I thought the function of the developer tracker and the ZOS-response indicator was to let me know when ZOS has said something I care about.

So please develop some way to distinguish between posts and/or accounts that are pure moderation versus posts that have something to do with the game.

Same here, i always think someone actually took the time to read a thread and responded.

Only to find the same cookie cutter "I moved this because ..." response.

The Developers don't post here, and the Moderators have no authority to actually do anything other than ban people from the Forums, Delete Threads, and Lock Threads.

Then they need to rename the "Developer Tracker" to "Forum Moderator Tracker".

The developers used to post here ...

    Not true. They post sometimes.

And some of the members of the community team actually have something to say about the game sometimes. Especially higher up staff like @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌ or @ZOS_GinaBruno‌.

I love it when they pass something down to us or let us know that they'll pass something from us on to the appropriate team.

I just want post like that to stick out more than "we moved this thread" or "spam is against our code of conduct."

After the infamous "Polished and Lag Free Launch" gaff, any developer would be insane to put anything in writing now. I know I sure would not risk my job and career to post on the forums.

I would be willing to bet just about anything that there is an official policy that employees will not post on public media of any type now. And that only officially cleared information can be put up, and only by specific individuals.

Okay...so then those specific individuals should be the only ones tracked.

See this thread for a recent example of a dev commenting on a game issue:

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/99434/let-s-just-say-it-friendly-caltrops-negate-siege-damage#latest

She says they are aware of the issue and gives us a time frame for a fix.

If you are talking about this:

    ================================================

    May 20 Staff Post

We can confirm there is currently a bug with Caltrops, as some of you have called out. We have a fix for it that will go live shortly after the Craglorn patch.

    Agree with OP.

I would like to see the simple forum mechanics of thread moving/closing/policing have a different flag if possible; vs. mod/dev responses to the issues raised and discussed, or dev patch notes, etc.
You can't sprint and use abilities at the same time.

Whatever. Just saying you are not going to be seeing any actual Developers posting here.

No devs post here. And when the "higher up mods" post, they are usually only passing on something from one of the team, which is usually wrong anyway.

The "higher up mods" also post to help individuals place a ticket, so you can read that too if you like :3

So, it's easy to distinguish mods from the devs - if it's posted here it's a mod, if you read it in some media release anywhere else on the internet, it's a dev.

Meh. Technically though, Innocente is correct.

The forums aren't meant to be a way for players and devs to communicate. It's intended for players to communicate with players. The involvement ZOS has with the forums is mostly limited to moderation and in a few select forums, customer support and tech support.

We may see some input from other ZOS employees from time to time about things, but these are "one-offs" in my opinion and shouldn't be considered normal and should never be expected.

If you want to make certain someone reads your feedback, the best way to do so is to submit it in-game using the /feedback option.

Now, if someone wants to ask them to filter the Dev Tracker by language, then that is an idea I could get behind and really support.

I guess i'm still used to the pre-launch Psijic (PTS) forum section where mods/devs/staff would post on a more regular basis.

Oh well, time to ignore that green ouroboros ...

Having just read the responses from JessicaFolsom‌ on the thread about Oil climbing walls... an acknowledgement and notice that a fix was found and will come out in a future patch... I would have to say ZOS "devs" do read and respond to posts. You just have to take the term "devs" as a general description of a ZOS employee rather than a literal job description.

I do wish, like the OP, that some other symbol was used for moderated threads vs. threads responded to by the devs.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the OP meant that he would rather see a distinction between a moderator's post that indicates a solution for a problem and a post that is relating to a moderation issue. I certainly agree that I would like to see a different symbol, even a different color for the circle thing as I find that I am very interested in reading about whether or not they are aware of something and fixing it (or not fixing it) and do not really care if it was just a moderator editing or telling someone to not violate the Code of Conduct/ToS.

I'd go as far as to say that pure moderation posts (eg. "Please stop flaming each other") shouldn't be tagged as special at all except for with in that thread.
