Templar problems

    End game its about resource management, and all classes in beta had a nice mana recovery tool. Then just before live they took the Templar's one away. Now that the 4/12 raid stuff is in where resource management is critical, Templars are not wanted as they are out of resources too soon and therefore their heals\dps drops right off compared to all other classes (even NB which also needs help)

    And the one skill that made soloing multi mobs solo while leveling doable, they nerfed that one to the ground (biting jabs) and now..... if your V1+ (and even more so at V10+) a very broken class.

    Why did they nerf biting jab? Cause bots where using it. That's there fix for bots? Find out what class they are using mostly and KILL that class???

    To do anything now, I have mostly mage guild line skills loaded, as they are better then our own skill lines! Class skills should be the best resource ratio skills around, and for all other classes they are.

    now for my fail post.

    i was a templar tank. with 2000 armor and 2000 spell resistance and 2000 health.

    i had like 1400 magic and 1700 stamina.

    i came encountered with the beetle of doom in a desert called ali'kir in a veteran 4 zone no longer part of the ebon heart pact.

    this beetle bit off one of my arms after i used ransack i tryed to retaliate with crippling slash to even my odds so he got mad and bit off my other arm

    so now im deep into this epic battle and the beetle calls his second friend.
    and my worst enemy another beetle of doom

    im scared so i heal myself with this bulls.h.i.t skill called lingering ritual then i use another skill called unstoppable thinking with a name that bada.s.s it might help

    so each beetle bites off my legs so im laying in the desert like a paraplegic and i see my death is imminent and my battle with marco polo and molag bal flashes before my eyes.

    then this dragon knight or sorcerer they are casters use the same armor all look alike i don't know what the hell he was honestly. comes in casts a couple of spells slaughters the beetles of doom.

    he looks down and says you must be a templar or a nightblade LOL

    We have 3 DPS Templars in our guild a average DPS is 450-600 and bursting up too 1k all different build as well no one is the same.

    my templar is unplayable now in veteran 4 ali'kir desert

    i use ransack
    i use crippling slash
    i use biting jabs
    i use luminous shards
    i use unstoppable / or lingering ritual if its a boss fight.
    i use a axe and a shield
    i use heavy armor. i have all my passives for aedric spear heavy armor and 1h+shield
    i have about 2100 health 1400 magic and 1700 stamina.
    i have about 2100 spell resistance and about 1800 armor defense

    this build was decent up until you all did whatever you did in your recent patches. now 2 assassination beetles are too much for me. they are trash mobs not even questing related ones. but quest related are even stronger

    also if you had to ask me what needs done i would tell you this:

    fix templars fix night blades!!!! please!!!!!
    then work on major bugs! and a little on the bots.
    then focus on adding new content.
    level limit is high enough for now.

    i really want to be able to play the game and have fun. like i did 1-50 and veteran 1-2

    last but not least as it is the two classes that work half way decent are dragon knights when played as casters (pyro mage) and sorcerers.

    do you all hate melee? why is it so hard? i would think it would be so easy to balance warrior/tank melee classes especially for pve content.

    get pve working.
    then get pvp working.

    after all gotta level before you take on the enemy, you must train!

    I doubt we will get another response from them till they make the change in the future , i do hope they revert it back on the next patch , dont think i have enough sub time for 2 of those.

    yeah i know how you feel! :/ we can only hope they fix some of this soon and i mean soon they got 10 days to show me something. or im taking a eso vacation! i'm not spending any more of my hard earned money on this game or company until they show me i should. i already dropped $95.00 on this game plus $15.00 on a canadian friend. since they would not accept their canadian bank cards or their paypal which i tried on their pc with teamviewer so i used my paypal and it worked like a charm. however i can't be everyone's payment intermediary . zenimax i really hope you see this post and take it into consideration.

    I am sorry if this would offend you, but I really hope Zenimax do not rush a thing like this because of something in your personal life.

    Rather it takes a bit longer and works. Then fek something else up.

    The thing you say that you hope something gets fixed fast or you take a vacation....I wonder if this game isnt gonna drive you away sooner or later. Because blancing will be a constant patch issue. And if you didnt know, there already are plans, features ALMOST ready that adds more skills to the game, which means more balancing. And possibly by human nature, something breaks. Zenimax General Manager for ESO have stated that they work on features until they are ready, and when and if they create problems, that becomes their priority.

    ESO have shown they are serious with the game and dont want anything thrown together without considering the longer term impact.

    Not only because I enjoy playing the game, having a company with this view secures a very good game for me, which I will spend alot of my time in.

    Well ofc , i respect your view and zens view , what to do with their game is their call.

    Still , what we ask here is just a rollback to the way the skill was before , which was not a major dps problem , templars were and are not the top dps class.

    So it is left for zen to decide heh , i made the decision that belongs to me , which is related to me playing the game or not , now i just wait zens.

    you sort of mis understand me and let me explain. i dont expect perfection i don't expect it fixed tomorrow. i just would like to know its in their considerations.

    also if i could at least play my character and kill normal quest monsters alone without dying if its 2 or more id be most grateful

    im just kind of offering some guidelines on what needs to be fixed pretty soon i don't know if you are aware or not but before i put this together ive spent alot of time on this forum reading everyones posts and i have a pretty solid idea of things they need to fix.

    on closing yeah i am frustrated i cannot even play the game i paid for without re rolling so i said 10 days to show me something i don't mean all this can be fixed to perfection in 10 days thats crazy but at least a we are aware of this and we are working on it would make me truly grateful.

    The most funny thing with my Templar Tank stumbles against 2 VR3 crocodiles.

    While in Cyrodiil, it slaughters VR10 players with ease (Sorc, NB, many Temp) and has great fights against DK or similarly specced Templars or Vampires.

    Seriously. There is something wrong here.


    While on the other hand a DK can clean up 6-7 VR3 Dremora on the Shadowfen dungeon, while solo.


    So decided to try both DK & NB. They are so op even at low levels, that are no fun to play in my opinion.

    I might roll a Khajiit Sorc Tank and see how he performs.

    Come on guys, you should know your character skills good enough (especially the healing skill tree, especially the passives of it, and, on top of all, the strongest instant-heal spell in the game the templar has got).
    If sharing this knowledge you'd understand that the templar is by far the best healer in the game, no one comes close to it (passives that give much more % of heals)!

    IMO, healing only with GTAE (resto) as a non-Templar sucks because it's simply "more clicks than necessary" as a result and your possibilities to heal targets moving in every direction, are limited to HoTs. Instant heal is WHAT IS NEEDED IN PVP. (you are the one that is able to heal the front-line tanks going in all directions, you can't do that with one single GTAE when healing team mates moving, charging, etc., you simply loose some seconds always putting your ground target heal in the right places!)

    "Honor the Dead" is the best single-instant heal / more single ppl orientated heal in the game and it gives back 18% x 5 magicka if used correctly. Both in PvE and PvP that is the unreached heal No°1. If you like to play alone / in small teams, pick that!!

    No other class can insta-heal numbers like 1400 HP, I even reached the 1500+ single heal (maybe with pvp/keep bonus, etc.) without imba equipment, just casual player items!

    Again: spec the right passives, also the ones from mages guild, from the pvp-skills, etc. to optimate your heals.

    To be sincere: For leveling you can also use "Honor of the Dead" on every hotbar. That heal alone (combined with max magicka) should keep you alive in most situations in PvE. If you don't party a lot, you simply don't need any other heal! (even for the VR++ content).

    For CC use the fire rune (morphed to better CC) as an OPENER, than do your DD spells/biting jabs, or heal yourself, or do an attack with your resto staff to regen magicka. Put on your bar the stamina-shield from the heavy armor, or sun shield. Now keep spamming fire rune every second, cast it in the right place and heal yourself with "Honor the Dead" now and then. You shall use your simple staff attack much more than necessary to keep enough magicka for Honor the Dead and fire rune. Many VR+ and VR++ fights can be won that way.

    If a monster is immune to knockback/stun simply try other strategies.
    :) Last strategy is: Wait at your spot for a DK player and get his help!

    If you got magicka issues in bigger teams - try "balance" from the mages guild. That skill is also underevaluated by 80% of the player base. In fact: If you got a support healer (or bigger PvP group), you get healed for the magicka that you trade for life easily by the support healer and by your own HoT. This works fantastic!

    Of course, Balance as a skill is more suited for bigger groups -> it allows chain-healing in many situations, especially when keeping alive "Rambo tanks"! With a resto staff you won't keep alive Rambo pvp-tanks and yourself in PvP, instead, your instant heal will do so! (The other morph of "honor the dead"!!)

    If you still have magicka issues use the right gem on your restoration staff (magicka drain). Have you ever thought about using 2 restoration staffs for hotbars? This works great if you choose to play the 100% healer templar!


    % Magic crit works fine with our healing skill-tree! Spec for it, get mage light, get the class passives for more crit, get items, etc.!

    Your hotbar could look like this:
    1. Fire rune
    2. Biting Jabs
    3. Mage Light
    4. Heavy armor shield
    5. Honor the Dead

    (this works for many VR+ / VR++ encountes).

    Until they give the Templar some decent DD/AE CC, some decent dmg synergies, etc., play the 100%-healer..! Meanwhile, level a sorc/DK hahaha

    yeay again someone who steps in with a charplaner in his hand with outdated infos:
    Healing only with GTAE (resto) sucks because it's simply "more clicks than necessary" as a result, these mechanics are not the "natural healer" mechanics known from all other MMOs since Daoc/WoW. (I'm not talking about HoT! I'm talking about targetted healing! GTAE skill vs. instant-heal skill) Instead, an insta heal is WHAT IS NEEDED IN PVP.     wrong tooltip once again like former channeld focus(100magicka per tic) it does not refill 18% per tic but 18% over 5 tics ...

    not one passive of the mages guild effects heals not even might of the guild as it truly only effects cast dmg :/

    beside the the fact that the smart healing does not prefer the templar but allways the "friendly" target with least hp arround quite often killing you becasue your last drop of magica does not heal you but a pesky npc...

    great hint you know that procs do not proc from channeld heavyattacks like the destro attack and using any thing else to pro a laughable 35point magica regain is purely useless.
    You should also think about the 10% more dmg you get with the resto passives. Have you ever tried to compare the damage you do with (just as an example) "biting jabs" using different weapons, you should notice that the damage maybe higher with the resto staff equipped! ;-)
    and? you still do less dmg than anyone else in those 2,5 sec the skill blocks your abilities... and you may ask yourself why so many sorcs use restostaffs when singletarget dpsing...
