New stealth dark visual bug?

For 38 levels of play whenever my character used stealth to hide by crouching there was no visual change to my character. Now sometimes when using hide, my character becomes darker like in shadows and it's hard to see visual features in my character and armor until I come out of hiding, then it goes away. This only happens when activating an object or talking to an NPC while hiding and doesn't happen when first entering hide which makes me wonder if this is a bug rather then a feature? (I've tried /stuck and disabling addons, etc. but it still doesn't stop making my character appear dark.) Does this happen to anyone else or just me?
