I too have been unable to plant seeds. Nobody else was around when I was doing my quest, so no "at the expense of someone else" thingy going on.

I also have tried most (if not all) the suggestions in this thread... thanks everyone, but I can not progress.

I have received feedback from tech-support after lodging a ticket and they confirmed that it is a known bug which they hope to fix in some future maintenance. The tech that contacted me expressed doubt that the techniques that had been suggested would actually fix the bug once it occurs.

So for me, I am just hanging out for a tech-support fix, or an update fix.
