So I read somewhere that after the community decided.... The days for maintenance would be Mon and Thur.... Thats cool, sounds pretty fair.

But who the F*** decided on 8am? Cuase im pretty sure we didnt. We meaning Customers. Im pretty sure the only people 8am is convenient for are your employees. Your being ZOS and maybe some Late nighters.

If the majority has weekends off and works weekdays.... a Quarter of those people can play while at Work between 8am-4pm. And the next up Majority would have certain weekdays off sometimes changing weekdays off that may fall on a Thursday. But because they are a Human being that falls under the MAJORITY time schedule, they are awake at 8am to witness the Maintenance.....

I Propose Maintenance times be moved to 2-3am start times. Inconvenience 20 of your employees so that thousands of customers can be happy. Please.

    Anyone second this proposal?

    MTS

Doesn't matter when maintenance happens, because if they would change it to the time you want, then someone would make the exact same thread as you complaining about their work schedule and why maintenance should be at a different time.

Not unimportant. Just a minority. Since the majority of individuals work 9-5, Service employees often have Volatile schedules.

I just dont want to hear people saying "Get a better job if you want to work during maintenance" Like I've heard before.

    Exactly this.

I'm an actor, so I tend to work at night. I would love to have maintenance periods in the evening, but I understand that I'm in the minority due to my odd schedule. Yet for some reason, I'm not complaining that I'm being treated unfairly...

Ummm....probably the workers that slave their a** off everyday to make this game what it is today. Should they go into work everyday at 3am instead? Yea....no.

Yes they should. Because 20 of them, does not compare to thousands of us.

That's a sure fire way to.....not even have a development team for thousands of you. Be smart.

lol, since when did the workers decide when they work? Pretty sure a business doesnt shut down in the middle of the F***ing day to do construction. It shuts that S*** down at night when they have minimal losses.

Zenimax takes the servers off line during work hours when it affects the least amount of people.

YOU do not take precedence over everyone else just because you are personally impacted by the downtime.

Do you call everyone in your community and tell them not to have Fires or rescue situations in Zone XX just because there is roadwork that impacts your ability to drive there?

What happens if there is? Do you whine and stamp your foot at the homeowner and complain to them that they could have picked a better time to have a house fire since there is road construction that made it take longer to get to the location and it impacted your job?

Probably not. And if you have that much an Entitlement attitude, please tell me what city you work in so I can warn everyone I know to avoid that place, or move if they already live there.

There is customer service standards and then there is coddling. No one will ever be 100% happy. No game's player base will 100% not be affected by server outages. Having worked in the customer service field myself I know that doing my job sometimes meant that someone wasn't going to be happy with my decision. But, I don't get to pick and choose guidelines to follow as they suit me or the situation of the customer. You aren't asking for better customer service. You are demanding that they do what you want or you will complain about it. Congratulations you have now learned that ZOS isn't going to bow to the whim of every player. The downtimes are inconvenient and there is nothing that we as players can do about the situation other than state our opinion. And on that note I will add that there is stating your opinion and attempting to shove it down everyone else's throat and force them to see things your way. Just my two cents.

If you are playing a video game while at work, and you are NOT one of the people being paid to do so, you need to step back and take a good long look at the priorities in your life.

You are cheating your employer when you play a game not directly related to your job.

If the best/only excuse you have for arguing against the current maintenance times is that you are unable to cheat your boss/company out of work hours, then I do not think you will find much sympathy from either gamers, or ZeniMax.
Lots if jobs let you do whatever you want as long as your doing what you are payed to do. I used to have a job at intel that I had to be on call and we played cards, darts you name it.

There is a HUGE difference in Supporting the Customers, and trying to coddle everyone who thinks they are entitled to demand things be done their way, and everyone else can go blow chunks.

First and foremost the customer is NOT always right and the sooner people get it out of their thick heads that they are, the better everyone will be.

Second, you are paying for access to the service, with NO guarantees that the service will be available all the time, or even during the times YOU want it to be. Try reading the Terms of Use. Don't like it, then leave.

Yeah, we ALL wish the game could be up 24/7/356(366), but realistically that is NEVER going to happen, and you should be old enough to understand, and mature enough to deal with it.

No matter what day/time they do it at someone is going to affected. They just need to do it at the time thats going to affect the least amount of people. And 8am on Monday/Thursday is that time. It best suits them and us. Would you rather it happen at 8pm?!

It is 12:30 PM here now and server is still down. If maintenance cannot be completed before noon in all NA time zones there needs to be some serious changes to these times. A huge portion of those who work for a living wish to log on over lunch.

Maintenance should be completed before noon in ALL NA time zones if this game wants to compete against other mmos who manage their down time with greater respect to their player base.

The thing is, not only American people play on the NA servers. Some other people are forced to do so as it is still closer to their homes then the EU server is. They get screwed over more then you personally do if they were to change the times, again.

Personally I'd prefer if the time was a little later in the morning. I play a bit before going to work, and the maintenance times cut that short by about 30 mins for me. No real big deal though.

You have to remember it's a maintenance window. If the game goes down at 8am, they can have it down for 9 hours and have it back up for when most people get home from work. They're doing upgrades, which don't always work perfectly, and they may need time to fix unexpected issues or roll back changes. Not every upgrade goes as smoothly in production as it did in Dev\QA\UAT. If they take it down earlier then that, they're affecting the crowd who play in the mornings before work.

I find it interesting that the OP assumes 25% of people can play while at work. He\She obviously does not have a concept of what "work" entails.
