Who voted for 8am Maintenance time?

MTS
MTS
So I read somewhere that after the community decided.... The days for maintenance would be Mon and Thur.... Thats cool, sounds pretty fair.

But who the F*** decided on 8am? Cuase im pretty sure we didnt. We meaning Customers. Im pretty sure the only people 8am is convenient for are your employees. Your being ZOS and maybe some Late nighters.

If the majority has weekends off and works weekdays.... a Quarter of those people can play while at Work between 8am-4pm. And the next up Majority would have certain weekdays off sometimes changing weekdays off that may fall on a Thursday. But because they are a Human being that falls under the MAJORITY time schedule, they are awake at 8am to witness the Maintenance.....

I Propose Maintenance times be moved to 2-3am start times. Inconvenience 20 of your employees so that thousands of customers can be happy. Please.

Anyone second this proposal?

I do agree 8 AM EDT is a little late in the morning do be doing maintenance. However, 2-3 AM EDT is waaaaaaayyyy too early. Puts it at 11 PM - 12 AM for us on the West Coast.

Nah needs to be more like 5-6 AM EDT
You may still experience an hour or so of maintenance, but you'll be asleep for 2-3 of the first hours.

All good....its drinking time in Australia so I can get on the bottle without interference from ESO. I can't handle multiple dependencies at once.

Sorry to say but they didn't pick the times to pander to your convenience. In fact, they already changed the times once.

I don't have to report to a job at any specific time so I can pretty much play whenever I want. However I realize that a good portion of people report to work in the mornings and work throughout the day in the traditional 9-5 hours. It seems to me that having the servers under maintenance during the early morning hours would be the most convenient to the larger player base.

Although it isn't convenient for me as I like playing in the mornings, I am not selfish or entitled enough to demand that they change their maintenance schedule to be more fitting for me.

WOW! I actually agree with what most of you are saying.
Fix the game, IDGAF what time maintenance is. Drinking while server maintenance is a good idea. And 5-6am EST is better for PST players.

Ummm....probably the workers that slave their a** off everyday to make this game what it is today. Should they go into work everyday at 3am instead? Yea....no.

Why not, you are a paying customer and have just as much voice as anyone paying for their product. They should aim to please you above anyone else. We pay their mortgage after all.

I'm pretty sure everyone who agreed to the EULA/TOS when they bought and subscribed to the game agreed to the maintenance times.

8AM on a weekday is great for me. Probably great for the majority of people who hold a standard job.

8am is normal business/school hours. It makes sense to do their updates while most people are at work or school. Now before you scream, I'm a 3rd shift worker, so I do understand not everyone has the same schedule. Also, no matter what time of day or night the updates are done, it will conflict with someone, the best that can be done is to have the update schedule clearly posted and consistent as possible.

Well I'm a fire fighter and My schedule is not so standard... but my Job is an important job, not like a Mcdonalds or Grocery store clerk who might have a thursday off. Or a college student etc etc.... So for all of you saying "I have a normal job it doesnt bother me leave it as it is" F*** you. If it wouldnt hurt you to have the times a little sooner why not get behind it....

    LMAO!!!!

Somehow I do not think that you paying $14.99 a month is paying anyone's mortgage and if it is, you need to stop being so damn cheap and pony up some more money.

And your name isn't on their paychecks.

And you are not their Team Manager/Director.

And you are not the CEO.

Time to get off of that horse called Entitled, and check yourself.

Question for MTS..... Have you researched when 90% of them go to work? I think SOME workers are night shift but I doubt they want to do a big maint with less people at work than required to make sure things go as smooth as it can at this point.

Having done a similar job years ago the datacenter has a 24 hour staff. Couple of people at night that have a set schedule of non-critical tasks to perform keeping things humming along. One guy who is on call that can actually fix problems who is at home sleeping and is a couple levels above the maintenance drones. Who has told them "If you wake me up the servers had better be on fire." The rest of the teams who work in areas near, but not at the actual servers roll in and do their fixes and stuff and get em all scheduled to be on test. Patch day a whole crapload of people roll into the server room to watch what they've coded and partially tested go live. Then scramble to fix when stuff goes south, because this guys changes impacted this other guys changes in ways that weren't seen on test. Bring the systems back online, hope that they're humming along and get on with the day. End of day shift 90 percent of your people actually writing code and fixing problems go home. On call guy might change to another guy. Rinse, repeat. That you think the "prima donnas" who are doing the actual coding and programming work are gonna come in middle of the night you're beyond high.

If you are playing a video game while at work, and you are NOT one of the people being paid to do so, you need to step back and take a good long look at the priorities in your life.

You are cheating your employer when you play a game not directly related to your job.

If the best/only excuse you have for arguing against the current maintenance times is that you are unable to cheat your boss/company out of work hours, then I do not think you will find much sympathy from either gamers, or ZeniMax.

lol, since when did the workers decide when they work? Pretty sure a business doesnt shut down in the middle of the F***ing day to do construction. It shuts that S*** down at night when they have minimal losses.

Not unimportant. Just a minority. Since the majority of individuals work 9-5, Service employees often have Volatile schedules.

But in all honesty, Arent they? I mean im pretty sure there is a Self check out line in most groceries now. How long before they do away with the majority of the Cashiers. and other unimportant jobs that a machine can do.

Anyway, off subject. Maintenance should be sooner than 8am EST, to ensure that gamers are getting the most of their time. It appears you settled on Mon and Thursday for the days (Most agree). But the times are not favorable to me, and hopefully not favorable to many of your customers.
