Being in a particular guild freezes my game, can't get in game.

So I recently joined a new guild, I tried to visit it's page on the guild tab but when I attempted to switch to it from one of my others it froze my game; I had to alt-tab and end the process. I tested this a few times with the same results.

I then had the idea to leave my other two guilds, as I was going to anyway, and then I might be able to see the new guilds page as it will be the only one left. I left the first guild with no problem, I then went to leave to second one and as soon as I did my game froze; alt-tab, end process.

So now when I try to log in as my character, I can't because it freezes on the loading screen after the character select stage. Something about displaying this guilds page is seriously messing up my game.

Any help?

There is a game breaking bug with some guilds that were messed up after the previous patch. Send in a support ticket with /help, name the guild there, and you should hopefully receive help soon. The help will most likely be given by removing you from the broken guild. I don't think they have found the actual cause of the problem yet.

Thanks, that's helpful. Unfortunately I can't get in the game to do that, will I be able to do it from another character? I also am unable to remember the guilds name, "Twilight" something I think it was.

Edit: just tried to log in as a different character and it froze then as well.

Edit: There is another thread about that "Twilight something" guild. Definitely bugged.

Thank you for for your help, I managed to find a thread that mentioned the "Twilight Market" which was the guild I was having problems with. Luckily someone mentioned that if you switch your game language (french for example) and login you will be able to bypass the freeze on the loading screen and leave the guild.

Thanks for that info. I have same issue with Twilight Market. Joined them today and now everytime i try to check on members list game freezes.

I have the same problem Exactly. It does seem like 'Changing the Language to French or German' is the quickest solution

however depending on your internet connection you may have to wait for a patch update of around 5.9 GB

- i am trying this now and will update on whether it has worked for me also.

Hey there folks,

This is an ongoing issue that we are continuing to investigate. For now, swapping the language and dropping out of the guild that is causing the problem is the easiest solution. To change the language of the game, close the game and open the launcher. Click the gold cog in the top-right corner, then select a different language from the drop down. A patch will update your language and you'll be able to log in.

lol iv just joined "Twilight Market" and now having the same problem just downloading new language now to leave hoppfully

Same issue here. "Twilight Market" recruited me and causes the game to crash upon login.
You'd think they're intentionally trolling new players now....

this is a better fix until ZOS gets off their asses and actually fixes it.
I mean honestly, changing the language...assuming a lot of people to speak two languages...
that and it has been at least a month... c'mon.

Wow - since August of last year...

I think it would be easy to isolate this problem - since you know the guild that is causing it.

If I were a mod/dev, I'd check the player notes in that guilds roster, or the MOTD for strange typed characters, like ÔÑ²ir„ or something else that is breaking the input filter.

You do not have to change the language in the launcher and download a complete voice-over patch.

If you're not comfortable with using an add-on to be able to stay in the guild, change the language directly in game by typing this into chat:

/script SetCVar("language.2", "de")

If you're more familiar with French than German, use "fr" in place of "de". Leave the guild -- this should be easy enough to do even if you don't undestand a single word. Then type:

/script SetCVar("language.2", "en")

And you're back to English.
