Khajiit Helmets and Facial Hair

When I wear a medium armor helmet with my khajiit, I lose my mane. But the real issue is I also lose my facial hair. I've bugged it a few times now, and some people respond with, "Of course your helmet covers your hair." But this isn't quite the same. Anyone else experiencing this?

Not done my Khajiit my medium armour, put him in heavy armour, and the helmets for heavy armour are far worse, they look like a cross between a bell and a cast of a Khajiit face.

Best solution is to press escape, click settings, then the third option, and tick hide helmet. then click resume. This hides the helmet, and gives you back the hair (of entire head for me).

Same. Helmets just tend to look horrible on Khajit, though I have no idea what all the different styles and types are like, but yeah, just hide the things unless/until you find a style that actually suits them.

Same here, have not found a helmet I like yet on my Kajhiit. I always keep it toggled off as well. Besides, my black kitty is too pretty to cover up :p

Yeah I have them toggled off as well. But this seems like a bug, not a feature. I lose my facial hair on my chin, and my chin isn't even covered!

Im just going to state the obvious here. Use a Khajitt helmet? This is the very first TES game where they actually made khajitt and argonian helmets specifically for their races so they would fit their facial structures. Should you also be able to wear other helmets? Of course. This is just typical of Zenimax though.

I just have the toggle to not display helmets on. And while I agree that using a racial style should be the way to go, the issue is more a bug where I'm losing some of the facial layering graphics. Since TES titles have many helmet styles with lower portions of the face staying visible, it shouldn't wipe out your beard.

I'm just going to state the obvious back at you, Khajiit heavy armour helmets suck, they suck bigtime. I tried one, technically I'm still wearing it, but god do I not want to see it.

Would you rather see your facial hair clipping with your helmet?

No, all Khajiiti helms suck. Nothing worse than the light armor. Yuk. I keep my helm hidden.

It's working as intended--to prevent "clipping". Honestly, this is why I like bald characters.

Basically everything about heads in ESO sucks. I started a Dark Elf Sorcerer the other day and gave her long white hair. Now when she is riding her horse the hair is supposed to flap in the breeze I guess, but instead it looks like it just sticks straight out and stays there and now I HAVE to wear a cowl/hood or deal with the stupid looking hair...

It's not a bug, it's a feature! All helmets come with a free razor! A well-groomed adventurer is an effective adventurer!

    Yeah, that is weird though.

Yeah, I actually like the Khajiit medium armour helmets (or at least the ones I've seen), but hoo boy do I hate the heavy armour ones. I don't really go for the "rainbow armour" theory where your character wears one or more pieces of each type of armour to level all the skills (I want my heavy armour guys to be heavy armour, and my medium armour guys to be medium armour), but I'm really tempted to start wearing a medium armour helmet on my Khajiit templar. For now I've just got the helmet toggled to not display.

I'd guess it's a general issue, Nord helmets certain obscure my Nord's beard and make him clean shaven.

To be fair, there's a reason why long beards aren't seen in combat. Short beards and trimmed facial hair, yes, but not the chest-long things you see...

Clipping was a great excuse... In 2002. Most people enjoy TES titles for the character customization aspects of the game.

I guess under the same thought, this means we'll never see cloaks.

Just giving this a bump, since it looks like the forums got cleaned up. Any hope for us bearded and long haired characters who wish to display them and our helmet?

Just another bump. Is there any hope that helmets won't strip off all facial hair? Even helmets that are designed to keep the lower portion of your face visible.

Did you not read the warning label on the Helm?
"Wearing this helm requires a shave and an automatic close shave will be applied to the wearer cause the dev team found it too hard to code otherwise"

The fix was auto hide helm....

There is currently only two classes in this game, DK and Sorcs.
Templar's and NB are just 'extras' that have not been removed yet.

I agree, I'm not saying this needs to be a priority. But to be fair, the people who work on rending and graphics are not the same people who work on game balance. At least not in a typical gaming company.

I'm more or less seeking an official response. Because the character I created is not the character that appears in front of me when I put a helmet on.
