Hey guys,
well, after
my old thread got closed, I want to at least re-post my constructive proposal regarding gear progression through new quests or reward mechanisms for PvP players in Imperial City and Cyrodiil. So here we go.
1. Add like 5-10
IC trophies of a random type to the "
Rewards for the Worthy" bags.
2. Add a
daily quest to the IC NPCs for "
Kill X players/class type inside IC districts or sewers"
- Where X is more like 50 or more so it's not as easy as with Cyrodiil's quests
- Quest is not shareable
3. Add
new daily quest(s) to Cyrodiil or change the existing quest rewards in Cyrodiil
- Quest 1: Kill X players/class type (X has to be >70)
- Quest 2: Capture two enemy keeps and successfully defend two friendly keeps (maybe even 3)
- Quest 3: Capture 10 enemy resources
- Quest is not shareable
- Only listing multiple quests to get some diversity
4. Add a
special reward mail (for the real worthy

) to PvP for
every 15,000 AP you earn (Like the Worthy reards, just less frequent).
This special reward mail has a low chance to randomly contain one of the undaunted monster helmets or shoulders.
Rewards for all of the above mentioned quests may be:
- Rewards would always be 10-20 IC trophies of a random type (for the IC quests only!)
- Additional 10% chance of receiving one of the new BoP set items from Vet WGT/prison (for the IC quests only!)
- Additional 10% chance of receiving an undaunted set piece (random shoulder/helmet with random trait/armor type)
- These quests would be the equivalent to the Undaunted plegdes for PvE (long overdue to get sth. like this anyway...)
That's it regarding my proposals. Of course not everyone may like it but in my opinion it is long overdue that we get some gear progression while doing PvP especially after the IC DLC made the AP-gear totally useless and took the overall rewards from PvP entirely.
The big advantages in my opinion would be that ZOS would only have to use existing game mechanics (mainly quests) to achieve these things.
In addition, especially point 3 may also contribute to reduce buff campaigns as you would want to defend and/or capture something, which is not possible when everything is already blue/red/yellow. So this may also drag some people out of buff campaigns because they want to complete quests where there is something to capture.

This is only my personal opinion and a quick draft of what I think is possible to please many PvP players that are currently forced to PvE with Undaunted sets, IC trophies etc. and disappointed of the IC DLC rewards for PvP (which don't even exist)

I do not want to take something away from PvE players and the chances for PvP players to obtain for example an undaunted piece would still be better in PvE as the RNG game is still in place for the above mentioned rewards and you have no chance to farm a helmet X precisely in PvP.
But at least we get a chance to progress our gear while playing the game we love: ESO PvP

I do NOT recommend ZOS to just upgrade existing AP-gear sets to VR16 as this would take players away from their new IC and Orsinium content for sure as some would still prefer (VR 16) Shadow Walker over Agility for example. Maybe they will do it at some point of tiem anyway but I think adding new reward mechanisms is the better way for now.
Looking forward to some player feedback and I'd love to hear what
@ZOS_RichLambert and/or
@ZOS_BrianWheeler may think about these ideas.
