SO CLOSE - Potential Bug, missing skill line exp

I have collected every book possible without going to any vet zones. Is it intended that you have to in order to get mages guild to rank 10, or did one of the +20 points for finishing a collection not get added? Regardless, kind of feels wrong that having literally every book possible before vet zones doesn't reach rank 10, but thought I would share this before anyone else gets the idea of finding books past rank 9 pre-vet.



EDIT: Moved to General Help as there seems to be a large number of players in AD who apparently reached rank 10 in the non-vet campaign so i'm not sure if i'm missing something here. Wouldn't have cared much to say something about it but I have a nagging voice in the back of my head telling me to update this.

Yep, did it a level 27, its the last set of books on the list.

Well, since a good number of the lorebooks are faction-specific lore, that kind of makes sense. I've never tried to level up my Mages Guild line to 10 before getting to vet content, but this certainly seems to be the intended mechanic.

Yes, vet zones are required to reach max rank in that skill line.

Yea i was pretty pissed when i realized after doing mages guild, all the public dungoens, and even cyrodiil, that i needed to to cadwells to get 10 for a couple books.

I'm pretty sure you will see mage books in the crown store eventually....

Did you go to Cyrodiil? Maybe there are some books there you haven't found yet.

There's this one guild I know who tested this and collected every single lorebook in Cyrodiil and the non-vet zones. Turns out, it's not possible to get meteor before accessing the second alliance's area for AD and EP, but DC can.

That's odd. I would imagine you would only be able to swap out the zone lore books between factions and since all 3 factions have the same number of zones that shouldn't happen. Is there anywhere that they posted this?

There are also books in the pvp zone, given you didn't do vet zones take it you didn't go there either?

After finding all Lore books is starter alliance, Coldharbor and Cadwell Silver I was able to complete by jumping into a few undaunted dungeons many have books near entrance (just run in and out!)

Yep, got all of those ones, several of the books in Cryodiil were just Dungeon lore (so I didn't need to go to all group dungeons) and a few odd ones like Daedric Princes and the like. Seeing as it seems the chaos of maintenance is over @ZOS_GinaBruno, not sure which team would know this but would it be possible to get the required experience to reach rank 10? I'm wanting to test if what @SafiyerAmitora said is still possible.

Go to Icy's last comment in that link, click his link to the recorded discussion, and starting at 42:43 is when they talk a bit about meteor in non-vet. Hope this source helps.

Still find it odd that DC can some how get the 20 additional points when the only difference I see are the 5 zone's lore collections. Any idea what gets them the last few points?

EDIT: Thinking this could be the bonus for completing a set (since every collection you complete gives 20 points). I'm thinking that this is a bug and DC gets the "collected all of a factions zone lore" bonus but EP and AD don't get that bonus. If that's the case then @ZOS_GinaBruno, if you are able to could you throw a line in the direction of whichever team balanced the lore books and ask if there is a bonus for collecting multiple collections? There isn't any other way I could imagine DC getting that specific of an advantage point wise.

That is very odd. I think it should be entirely possible to get to level 10 by getting all books in your starter alliance, Cyrodiil and the group dungeons.

Being only 20 points away makes this even stranger. I would file a bug report.

I got level 10 before I opened Silver... EP Cyrodill and main quest line will fill you up.

The main quest line with the prophet or the faction quest line? I had gotten the mages guild quest line done when this alt was level 27 and that didn't get it.

Something is wonky with your points. You should have Rank 9 at 245/260 if you completed all the collections outside of Cadwell's Silver and Gold. By virtue of every level being a multiple of 10 and there being one odd-numbered set (Dungeon Lore has 17 books) -- your total points should end in a 5.

10 Books per zone + Set bonus (70 XP) * 6 zones = 420 XP
10 Books per collection + Set bonus (70 XP) * 10 collections = 700 XP
16 Dwemer books + Set bonus = 100 XP
17 Dungeon Lore books + Set bonus = 105 XP
4 Eyevea books + Set bonus = 40 XP

Total XP = 1365

The skill to level Mage's Guild at each level:
70 Lvl 2
90 Lvl 3
110 Lvl 4
130 Lvl 5
150 Lvl 6
170 Lvl 7
190 Lvl 8
210 Lvl 9
260 Lvl 10

---

1380 XP Total for Rank 10

So you should be missing 15 XP, not 20 XP. Something in your screenshot is messed up.
