Hardest Quest NPC?

So I just fought Casso Varo on my VR4 Templar DPS it took me five attempts to finally defeat him. What is the hardest NPC you ran across, not necessarily the one that after you figured out the mechanics it became easy but the one that was out and out tough. Oh and lets go with solo quests no pledge or higher level group stuff.

Merdyndril, in Deshaan. Took me forever to beat him. The guy is supposed to be an alchemist, but he fights more like a god (unless he's been nerfed since).

It's the fight that led me to finally discover the utility of Immovable.

Nenaronald was my big bane back in the days. First mob that actually killed me off with 2 hits. Doshia was tough aswell at launch.

Now I have no idea since I will never ever replay that content again.

doshia. Thank goodness for the nerf. It's doshia that drove my sister and my father away from playing TESO.

But, I stuck around and sure enough, a nerf. Now I love it when people come in seeking long overdue revenge.

Doshia was a nasty one at launch. She killed me over and over. I finally gave up, gained a few levels, and then came back to seek my revenge.

Pretty sure they nerfed those, but the 3 'bosses' of that quest in Skywatch / Auridon , where you go to the Veiled Heritance Isle..
Seriosusly, took me 2 days to finish that quest, that guy was a monster, by the time I could even significally hurt him, the other 2 respawn'd... Recently i made an alt to get there, and i kinda got disapointed. Most fearsome bosses got nerfed...
Not that i'm complaining much, tho'

The guy you fight in the Temple in Mournhold? Forgot his name.. Yeah he was tough lol. Also, as many have said Doshia was a pain back in the day.

And to all who say that there is nothing hard about any of ESO, way to be buzzkills in the thread.

Is it that the one where you have to damage them both at the same rate? It took me a bit to realize why she wasn't dying. There was also a quest I recall involving Gargoyles that had a mechanic to it if you didn't do it they just kept spawning.

I did that quest 2 or 3 times (different characters) pre-nerf, and I never had any trouble with it. It seemed like pre-nerf Doshia was way harder. She gave me fits on my first character.

It's actually really easy if you're not suffering from latency and you interrupt appropriately. The problem with the boss you're talking about is that if you've got any latency going on (especially if it's fairly bad) you won't be able to interrupt in time, and Casso will basically insta-heal without you being able to stop it. I've done the quest while I was suffering from latency and it was impossible. I gave up for the evening, came back and did it the next day and it was a piece of cake.

Edit to add: the experience I'm talking about above was doing it in a Cadwell's Silver zone, but it probably applies regardless of the level you're doing it at: I've also done that quest 3 times on AD characters at-level, and had no problem with it on them, as I wasn't suffering from latency.

Yeah, I agree, that harvester wasn't too big a deal (after all you do have the other companions with you too, at this point). Those skellingtons guarding Mannimarco though, could go for a bike ride through Derry wearing "I <3 the British Paras" T-shirts...

Well maybe that was what was going on I just couldn't seem to keep him hurt no matter how many times I interrupted. Then he also hits very hard with his spells.

The final boss in Eastmarch, the Brother of the King up there who was trying to usurp the throne. He killed me many times before I figured some things out. This was the NPC that I finally put Sparks on my bar after 5 wipes and finally prevailed.

Other than that, there are some 3 Rangers in Malabal Tor (a World Boss) that are super deceptive. You would think they would be push overs due to not having super high health, but they hit like a freight train.

Once you have the epiphany and get your interupt timing down, it's not too hard. The problem is, if your at a distance, closing that distance to do the interupt before they heal is what will get you every time. Invasion is an example of a skill that is needed for this fight. 2H and the Templars have a skill for this, but not sure if they also Bash for the Interrupt. Crushing Shock can also work too to interupt.

Otherwise, your standing toe to toe with the Boss and Bashing that way. But, if you can interrupt the first two heals, then you can win this fight.

My toughest fight was against The Hound during the final quest in VR9 Malabal Tor before last summer's nerf to the vet content. I didn't have a poison enchanted bow on me to take down the perpetually spawning werewolves so I wiped more on that boss than anywhere else in the game. If only I knew then what I know now.

Yeah, if you can't get the timing right on interrupting the heal (and if you're suffering from latency it's damn near impossible to get the timing right) then Casso is virtually unbeatable. If you get the timing right, though, you'll maybe take a couple of big hits, but you'll win with ease.

Those of us saying Doshia are talking about pre-nerf Doshia... Now she's a pushover (post-nerf I have actually one-shotted her with Silver Bolts). Back then, she was tough. Especially as she was very likely the first Harvester you'd encounter, and odds are you didn't know the mechanics of how they work and how to beat them. Or at least I didn't.

Doshia pre-nerf was difficult. Now she's dead even before she can transform into a Harvester most of the time.

General Endare gave me a lot of trouble the first time around, but that was because I had no AOE and I kept trying to burst them down individually.
