How to FIX that annoying LUA memory limit Error.. Easy as 1,2,3

Tired Of Seeing This

Here is the simple solution
Step 1: Close ESO
Step 2: Locate the UserSetting.txt file in (Documents>Elder Scrolls Online> Live (or LiveEU) and edit the following line: LuaMemoryLimitMB "64" ..change 64 into 128 (512 preferred if using MM OR more if needed)

Step 3: Save and close the UserSetting.txt file and then open up eso again and you will be error free.

Feel free to adjust the memory limit to account for your add on needs. Hope this helps.

There's also an addon that will let you set your LUA memory to automatically adjust itself higher or lower based on need!

I have done this before but have had to do it twice again since. It reset itself. Does anyone else have this issue? Once I have repaired the game, but the second time I don't remember anything changing.

I think game now asks about incresing lua memory (I saw screenshot with that dialog menu). I don't think it was an addon.

The current screen shot in this thread shows you exactly what the game itself does and it does NOT tell you how to increase the LUA memory, It just suggests that you remove addons. If you've seen a different screen shot, it most certainly was an addon.

When I finally exceeded the limit, the game asked if I wanted to increase to 128, and when I accepted, it changed it for me.

That was the first Addon I linked to. I guess that makes 2 addons that fix this. Now @SFBryan18 needs to let us know if he's running No Thank You Addon to stop all the notification messages that most people use it for since it apparently also allows you to change your LUA memory. I seriously didn't think they had added it to the game so his assertion threw me for a loop...

Wow, thanks! I never had this issue until 1.6 and was unaware... I use the same number of addons as pre-1.6, but then it started happening, of course usually mid fight in AvA.

I use no add ons, therefore I get no LUA errors. Easy as 1.

Your welcome. I did have a pop up in my game which asked me if I wanted to adjust my memory, so I guess one of my addons must have built it in with their latest version.. But I am not sure which one. But it is still good to know how to do it manually. Mine is set to 1024mb.

they didnt realize so much was missing in content that addon creators would actually need to add content :P
