Have noticed alot of new players giving PvP a go there are many videos and things elsewhere but wanted to start a thread for anyone that doesnt know all the tips and tricks in Cyrodiil and hopefully help make everybody better players .
I'll kick it off with

1. the non elemental ballistas and trebs (not fire) do more damage to keep walls
2. during a battle defending a keep people should always check the walls to see if they can be repaired and if so the more people repairing the faster it goes up
3. if you spot a keep under attack call it out in-zone no matter how small and call out the numbers of enemies and which side its on
4. if you're low level and not sure what to do bring a healing staff and keep everybody's health up that is always welcome
5. if you see team mates stealthed do not spam heals on them or it gives away their position
6. do not stand or stay in RED circles
7. your factions HOME keeps are the ones that say FORT on them they should be on high priority for defending and taking at all times

    7. your factions HOME keeps are the ones that say FORT on them they should be on high priority for defending and taking at all times

To be specific, this is true if you fight for the daggerfall covenant(blue). If you fight for the aldmeri dominion(yellow) your home keeps are called 'castle'. If you fight for the ebonheart pact(red) your home keeps are called 'keep'.

You need to correct #7. DC's home keeps are forts. AD's home keeps are castles. Only EP's home keeps are actually named keeps.

If your faction captures a resource, do not leave until the compass icon changes color.

If you are not a VR level player, it is not a good idea to engage in solo combat with a VR player. Fleeing a fight is the best option sometimes.

    8. If a group leader says group on crown.....it usually because they are going through a high aoe damage area (broken inner wall) and you need to stand in the green circle to survive and get through. So stay alert.
    9. Gankers will often wait at pinch points like bridges and gates. So stealth until safely through or move through these areas as a group and not solo.
    10. You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. I love people who rez me. I always remember such helpful people.

Added a bit of detail in italics.
    1. the non elemental ballistas and trebs (not fire) do more damage to keep walls. Those are the "Pact Ballista" and the "Stone Treb"
    2. during a battle defending a keep people should always check the walls to see if they can be repaired and if so the more people repairing the faster it goes up. You can usually tell if a wall is repairable because wooden scaffolding will appear.

Srsly though, If you see someone or a group of people stealthed don't cast on top of them and if you are being attacked certainly don't Bline to them.

Meat bag anti heal effects don't stack so shooting 3 at the same place isn't very effective.

Aim for walls not doors on the outer wall, Inner it doesn't matter so long as you are attacking the postern wall.

Stack impen atleast 50% going 70%/80% is over kill imo.

Don't spend 30 minutes trying to kill 1 DK between keeps.

... this way enemies will focus on you straight away and kill you instead of anybody else... at first.

Just like in PvE, healers are the top priority targets.

    THIS. So many times.

As a side note, if you're healing you'll want to be near the back of the assault team or at one side. Close enough to heal but far enough away that you don't get caught in AOEs or an invading DK or similar. The problem is that what is at the back or the side tends to change almost constantly, so you also have to be ready to move.

It's worth noting that you should be in stealth to avoid lethal arrow fire or any other targeted attacks. Any action brings you out of stealth temporarily, but it's a risk you have to take. Just make sure the eye closes completely and says hidden afterwards. And as soon as you can, learn Purge. Maybe by then it'll even be fixed!

if you are a non-vet lvl player, just go to Blackwater blade. There you will be able to do something besides sitting in the back and healing all day.

not saying healing is not important, but im sure some people did not get on PvP to be forced into a healing role due to their rank.

oh, and BUY GEMS. whether its the filled ones for 3.6K AP or the empty ones to fill yourself: ALWAYS have some gems on you. Rezing teammates can be the tiny difference between victory and defeat, not to mention players tend to remember helpful people.

in fact, this applies to everyone, not just noobs:)

and dont spend the entire day trying to get that player that killed you.... some people you wont be able to beat. Your alliance as a whole is WAY more important than some foolish revenge quest you are undertaking. If a keep is being sieged, go help, dont go stalking that AD player across the map because he jumped you 2 hours ago...

If you are going to put down a siege on a tower while defending, do so at the edge, not in the middle - we can often easily fit 3 of them there that way, instead of just one.

1.Stay in the back and watch!
Observe how siege and defense strategies are carried out from a safe distance for a while. ( you cant see the overal battle from the frontline). It doesn't hurt to pm some players you see doing well at this point and ask questions.

    2.integrate yourself slowly!
After observing you will see for yourself what tactics work best for the different situations. Stick your feet in the water a bit testing the different strats you have observed and test out your limitations. (Knowing your limitations is key)

3.Try to pick out low health targets!
For the first while untill you gain more confidence in your abilities target low health players to assist in kills.

I could go on forever but if your just starting and follow these 3 steps you will learn faster, live longer, and gain more ap then just face smashing into PvP. I can promise you that

Also: If you see some DK flapflap animation - shoot that guy with your hardest sniper ability followed by poison arrow and then light attack as fast as you can. I promise this will be a worthwhile experience! ;)

As said by others "Keeps" are Pact strongholds: Kingscrest, Farragut, Arrius, Chalman, Blue Road, and Drakelow.

"Castles" are Dominion strongholds: Blackboot, Bloodmayne, Faregyle, Brindle, Roebeck, and Alessia

"Forts" are Covenant strongholds: Warden, Rayles, Glademist, Ash, Aleswell, and Dragonclaw.

You get a bonus for holding all of your Alliance's strongholds and additional bonuses the more enemy strongholds your Alliance controls. Things like more experience, AP from kills, etc.

If you look on the map the starting territories for the Alliances are separated by mountains or rivers, so that to go from one to another you have to either cross a larger bridge or pass through a milegate. The outposts are near these boundaries where they converge on the Imperial City.

#8. Your awesome melee build is no match for that huge train of monkey spammers with impulse, batswarm, and wall of elements.

They are trying to bait you. If you attack them solo, you are just feeding them AP and ultimate.

Range them or attack with a larger group. If you can't move, its probably not CC, just the lag they intentionally cause. /bug is good for this. Report bugs and lagbombs.

Funny! Yea.... It's a pattern since day 1 in ESO.

To add to above tips, if you start calling out in zones, you can also put them in Yell chat. Don't forget to mention which side of the wall is being sieged, number of sieges and what enemies Red, Blue or Yellow. It's very vague to say in Zone, "I see many Reds coming to ASH!"
