Quest indicators missing (solved - solution inside)

Since the last patch my quest indicators are gone and there are no tasks when I view quests in the journal.
No indicators on the map, the compass or over quest items/npcs in the world.
I disabled all addons, tried relogging and restarting the game.
It affects every character, even newly created chars.

The quest givers in the interface settings are enabled. Tried disabling and enabling it again... didn't help.

For the people with similar problems:

I was in Beta and used the updated Beta client for playing.
I uninstalled it, removed all folders and hidden files and reinstalled it from the DVDs.
Now the quest indicators work again.

But Zenimax should really fix their launcher. It took me 10+ hours to reinstall the game.
With the online installer I always got the Error 302. I reinstalled several times but I always got the same error.
After that I installed from DVD and the launcher loaded an additional 20gb from the net. It did it several times and it wouldn't install the game.
I googled the problem and found a lot of players with similar problems. I followed a tip from an other player and disabled auto update in the launcher. After that it downloaded the 20gb files again but this time it installed the game correctly and I can play again.

One more try and I would have ended my subscription... was really frustrated. I played a lot of different online games but i never had problems like that. Would be nice if we could download the whole game client or the updates manually without the launcher...

I'm having this issue too. Checked just about everything I can think of, removed all addons... but still in the regular J journal, there are no tasks listed for the quests and no pins on the map.

I have reported this issue and it is as of now being looked into by the dev team.

I see several other threads here reporting the same issue, and no definitive resolution as yet.
