Yesterday I installed the game on my MAC, but when I tried to log in, I got Error 200. I checked what this meant, and the forums basically say it probably means the authentication server is offline/busy/what have you, and to wait a few minutes and then try again. If this did't help, it said to contact Customer Support. I tried again several times for the next half hour, and then I contacted Customer Support.

This is the automatically generated response i got another half hour later:
Greetings!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.

Error 200 occurs when a player is unable to reach the game's servers. If you are receiving this error, please try again in a few minutes. If you are still unable to log into the game, please contact Customer Support.
You can also check our Service Alerts page for details on the status of the game.

So, basically, I was told to do what I had already done... Retry and if that fails, contact Customer Support... Am I the only one who is not amused?
Naturally, I sent them an answer expressing how they were not helping, but I have yet to receive an answer to that one.

I let the matter rest, went to bed and woke up to try again, but the problem is still there. I've waited more than a few minutes, it's safe to say. I've contacted Customer Support. Now what?

Help would be appreciated.... :)

    OK no offence but it sorta feels good to see I'm not th only one. I sent a new ticket, now in a rather angry tone, and I got sent a solution but I think this solution is meant for PCs, because I can't find the folder in question;
Close both the game and the launcher
    Open the game installation directory
    Open the folder named "Launcher"
Inside the "Launcher" folder, there is a folder named "ProgramData"
Rename the "ProgramData" folder to "ProgramDataBackup"
Open the launcher and download update
    Click "Play"

I responded a couple of hours ago to get the solution I need but still haven't gotten a reply to that one. It seems that despite the fact that their emails say that we just have to reply to them if what they suggest doesn't help, they only reply if I send a new ticket :/

HI. First it would help to post Mac issues to the Mac Technical Support section where they are more likely to get more Mac specific help.

Here are some things to try for the Error 200 on a Mac:

    Disable OS X Firewall

Also worth ensuring the OS X Firewall is switched off during download and that any router firewall is not blocking it in some way.

System Preferences > Secuirty & Privacy > Firewall

This is in OS X 10.9 Mavericks, It may be slightly different in other versions.

    Reset DNCP lease

System Preferences > Network > Select the network you are connected to (indicated by green circle)> Click Advanced > Click Renew DHCP Lease

    Change your DNS

Change your DNS settings to a public DNS server (non-ISP).

    I used Google: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4

On the Mac, to change the DNS server IP addresses go to:

    System Preferences > Network > Advanced… > DNS

Note the existing ones usually automatically added by your ISP then change them for the Google ones of other you prefer. Remember to Apply changes after clicking OK when done.

    Uncheck Auto Proxy Discovery

    - Navigate to the System Preferences under the Apple Menu.
    - Open up Network in System Preferences. (Usually located in the third row, third icon.)
    - Make sure the network connection with a green dot next to it is selected.
    - Click the Advanced button in the lower right corner
    - From the drop down menu, click on Proxies.
    - In the "Select a protocol to configure" list
    - Uncheck "Auto Proxy Discovery”

Try these. If they don't help can I ask that you open a new thread with the details here and we can try to help resolve this.

In the meantime keep trying via Support for any official solutions.

Woooow I don't know which of these things did it but it worked! Yeah silly me, was way too slow on the uptake of seeing that there even exists a Mac specific support forum ;)

Thank you so much mister Moonraker :D You're my hero today ;)

Thank you! I have had this problem over and over and have tried so many solutions as suggested by customer support, but this is the first thing that has worked!
