Bow addition quivers/arrow types?

was thinking just redid the best of the best quest in eastmarch that gives you exploding arrows to hunt rabbits with. question is why dont we have the option to put bow in one hand and a quiver in the offhand. and have quivers or arrow types that can alter some combat. exploding arrows sounds great i know enchants do most of the fire damage poison etc but this would also give us an additional thing to craft and add enchants and set effects to. maybe craft arrows that have bleed damage and crit modifiers to combo with bows maybe silver arrows to hit undead stuff for extra damage snare effect arrows. stuff like that it would definitely help the stamina builds a bit. to make it fair some what could always have a ammo limit on them that needs to be refilled when you repair. when it runs out you use your normal arrows. just an idea.

I would really like ammo types added to the game.

Every arrow effect you mentioned, besides explosive, is already a skill, enchantment, or set effect.

I think that sounds perfect. I miss the excitement of finding ebony arrows (before you could craft arrows) in a loot chest and only using them on "special" enemies :)

    Exploding arrows FTW!
Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

This just means we have to carry ammo around, and the bows essentially become useless when we run out (because bows would be balanced for use with these quivers).

In short it just makes bows more complicated and wouldn't offer any real gain (because the devs would have to rebalance the bows to do what they already do, or they would become overpowered).

Fair point, but what if they added a "Regular Arrow" quiver that had infinite amount of arrows, so you could still use them when you run out of others, but then whenever you find (and I think if they did this, it should be on a drop-only/quest-reward only basis) more powerful arrows, you can equip them for a duration. Kind of like a buff for bow damage?

I think it would be fun to have some craftable exploding/armour piercing/ect arrowheads.. Also like in Minecraft, I want arrows sticking out of my body after getting shot by an archer.

It could work as a buff, provided it had a decent cooldown, so it doesn't get overpowered in PVP. Nice idea.

dunno what kind of insane over powered damage buff you think i had in mind i find arrows rather weak in-general dmg is low skill damage not as high as i'd like to see as a primary damage type. and some people literally re stating and rewording exactly what i already said...

I dont think new ammo types are needed (unless added as abilities in the skill trees), but I do think a quiver offhand slot item needs to be added that can be equipped with a bow in the mainhand slot. Doesnt need a visual effect or anything even, but I want it there for the extra set bonus slot and stats.

I suggested this very thing a while back and love the idea! Keep the bow the way it is now and ADD the ability to make for special arrows that are limited in quantity. When you run out, it's back to the normal infinite arrows!

This would add so much to the bow dynamic. I do think, however, the quivers could be on a radial menu to hot swap between arrow types while in battle.

This could be accomplished, as suggested above, by being a alchemic buff that is "consumed". Think of it as adding "tar" your arrows for fire damage or poison for poison damage. That way it would be limited and have a cooldown. Using this concept, the buff could be added to ANY weapon... flaming mace of ice anyone?

Eh... I kind of like that idea but would prefer the ability to craft consumable arrows. ;)

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
