so i started the launcher and it starts by saying checking download and then
at around 8% the download stop and it then says reliable source serving corrupt data. I have tried restarting the launcher but it won't work! and no one on the internet seems to have that same problem. any suggestion?

Have you gone into the game directory and loaded the game directly from the exe file and not through the launcher?

In the end, after reinstalling the game fresh, I still had the launcher problems. When I directly access the eso.exe file I am able to log in on my desktop pc. This is after I managed to get my mac client to log in at college and then having it tell me that I have an incorrect password when I come home and try play on it 20 min later.

The reliable source serving corrupt data error can sometimes be resolved by adding ESO, the launcher, and accout.elderscrollsonline.com to your firewall and anti-virus programs, then rebooting. After doing this, we recommend that, if the launcher doesn't resume downloading like it should, you try running a repair on the launcher.

Gravedigging to the max, 10 months, very nice.
    1. Virus scan your computer. Yes, sometimes this really is the problem.
    2. Restart your computer. Ensures the virus scan is fully complete
    3. Try logging in, Running as administrator
    4. Check active background processes such as Skype for interference, shut them down (I used to have a problem where Mumble would crash my game)
    5. Disable any addons you may have recently installed that could be conflicting
    6. Try logging in, as administrator
    7. Repair your client, hope for the best
    8. Check your email for a response back
