players in summerset are rather rude and hostile.

got told to 'shut the *** up' for trying to have some fun and start a show of sorts at the relenthil amphitheatre, I dont see what their problem is. why do players in this game throw such a fit if someone tries to have fun for once?

Different boats for different folks. Two sides to every story, and somewhere in the middle the truth lies waiting to be seen.

Nice to see that it (the amphitheater) does still randomly get used for fun. Sad that randos yelling off is discouraging, although not sure if the message to join the fun was spammed in zone or not, as well how it was worded.

Best of luck though, hope you find enough to have your event.

At times like this, players like the OP eventually get told to "just add the rude players to your 'ignore' list."

Which begs the question, why does no one ever suggest to the rude players that they add the RPers or others they're annoyed by to their "ignore" list?

Well, then, let me be the first. If you're playing ESO and a group of RPers, or someone like the OP, annoy you with whatever it is they're saying or doing, just ignore them.

Doesn't part of Rellenthil quest take part in the amphitheatre? Could you be interfering with quest scene?

Part of it does, but it doesn't interfere. Maybe you block their view slightly, maybe, but it's never anything bad enough to get yelled or cursed at for.

What was the "show of sorts" content? Was it anything which might have upset people?

If half the chat were responding to you, am I correct in assuming you were speaking in zone chat? Maybe do your thing in local chat. This doesn't excuse rudeness in any way, but you could be seen as spamming zone chat.

My thought was two sides to every story. OP has not even tried to note what they were saying.

I recall trolls in Daggerfall that I am sure would say they were just trying to stir up some entertainment even though it was at the cost of anyone who posted in chat.

Ofc, I am not saying OP was trolling in zone chat but we really do not know what was going on unless someone that saw it chimes into this thread

Obviously, if you were doing the whole play in /zone that might be too much, but just advertising it a couple of times should be OK.

    That is weird.

And even weirder. I was in elsweyr and someone in zone asked for people to join their erotic role playing group and not a single comment made to that. :o

Sounds like regular zone chat to me. No matter where you go you find trolls, mentors, entitled people, kind people, people who just don't care, people who just wanna duel others, people who want play the game their way, people who want to force you to play the game their way, PVPers, PVEers, RPers, and many many more.

Honestly attributing a certain behavior to a specific zone is like saying the only place to buy apples is the Supermarket in Wayrest, and I know you can find apples in the other cities and locales around Nirn.

If you are doing a RP or a show is sorts do it in local chat rather than zone chat. By the sounds of it you where doing it in zone chat and so pissed if the entire zone.

[snip] maybe you was spamming zone chat.Chapter zone chats are used quite a bit for people looking for groups for activities in that zone, typically world bosses. If youre spamming with randomness it makes it hard to get a group.

If one player is "spamming with randomness" then it's really, really easy for anyone who's bothered by it to ignore that player.

If several players get annoyed with whatever one player is saying, and instead of just ignoring that one player they decide to start trolling the player, there are now several players filling up the chat and making it hard for players to look for groups, so that means anyone looking for a group now has to ignore not just the original player, but all the players who decided that trolling the player was more fun than simply ignoring them.

No idea what the other megaservers are like but on Xbox NA, Summerset is nice. If you want to see nasty, go to the Rift. That zone is very infamous on Xbox NA.

Might have been what I like to call SHEARP which means snooty high elf arrogance role play, very common in Summerset.

    So...one person was rude.

no actually. quite a lot of them where. hate to break it to you, but half the chat started taking the mickey. if you're here to try and troll me, go find some place else.

So everyone in zone should have to stop what there doing to block op for spamming chat! No thats not a solution chat trolls should always be called out and learn basic respect.

So everyone in the zone should have to stop what they're doing to block the so-called spammer and all the trolls who are trolling him or her? That's a brilliant solution-- so much more logical. SMH.

I really think when some players are playing an Altmer, they feel forced to be toxic and haughty.
