Go and read the terms of service for ESO and ESO+. Access to the game and plus benefits are not guaranteed.

Compensating paying players for time lost due to ZOS mistakes is to rebuild goodwill with the player base. They might not have to do it but it is in the company's best interest if they do.

Why? Goodwill costs money, and we are obviously not voting with our feet, leaving ESO behind, so why would they bother?

I have by cancelling my ESO+ and I stopped playing when it was obvious that U33 was going to be the same bugged up mess that was on the PTS. The only part I got wrong is it appears to be a worse bugged up mess than it was on the PTS.

Same here, except the family still wants to play for free. So we will I guess for now.

I won't restate the on going issues, but rather ask if there's any chance of getting my subscription comped? Either by extending it a few days or the addition of a few hundred crowns. Alternatively, is there a way to refund my sub 1 year sub, of which I've played 3 months of, so I can just pick up playing again when they sort this out?

They did this once way back in 2014. Here is a screenshot from my payment history.ohr3tyw9v1q2.jpg

That was 2014 though back when it was a subscription game. It does make a difference.

Just because they aren't obligated to compensate people doesn't mean they shouldn't do it. It's hurting them a lot more to let things keep going in this manner than it would for them to give some sort of actual compensation. It would actually help them out a lot because it would be SOME sort of proof that they actually care, to some tiny extent.

There comes a time when empty words no longer work. Action, or inaction, speaks a lot louder than anything they can tell us at this point.

Not saying your wrong. Just pointing out that these appeals have little to no affect. What can be done, what should be done, what you are obligated to do, and what you want done are all different actions and don't have the same results. Some are more likely than others.

Well it's quite clear the event was not extended, so no 'compensation' from that happening either. But not surprised. Having played since 2015, I don't recall a time that ZOS has ever compensated for problems... although I have seen them extend events before, which would have been nice in this case- at least it would have been something.

I believe compensatory time came from billing errors when the game was a subscription model only. I do not think it ever had to do with maintenance or certain functions in the game not working as intended.

I'd be happy enough if they just extended the explorer event because I was barely able to even take part.

Hey @ElfFromSpace, have an update on Explorer's Celebration:

Due to the server issues, we have decided not to extend Explorer's Celebration. We want events to be a fun experience where ESO is running as intended. We will be discussing potential options to make up for Explorer's Celebration, once the current issues are resolved.

As for everyone else noting compensation for ESO+ members, we will raise this concern to the powers that be. No promises in the immediate, but we will raise the concern.

    No words at all!

We need a base game to have fun experience. At this point, we have NOT!

    current issues are resolved
Inssue?! I can't play in my alts because i have most of the maps completed. Even very very new one have the same inssue.

The faster PLUS end.... the better!

I could very much get behind an extra week being tacked onto the Anniversary event.

The date and timeframe haven't been announced. If they announced tomorrow that the anniversary event would have been 2 weeks, but they are making it 3 weeks instead, how would that be different than just saying it would be 3 weeks to begin with? You can't be rewarded with extra time when the base time isn't known yet. Or did they announce the timeframe and I missed it?

You aren't wrong, but for the last two previous years, both have last about two weeks. Aside from the five year anniversary jubilee, none have lasted longer than three weeks. If this year's event were to last a full month, than I think we can be sure they aren't just BS'ing us.

edit: In an ideal world, we'd get extra time on our ESO+ subs or Crowns. To anyone who's lived through the last two years and still thinks we live in such a world I ask you to share whatever it is you're smoking. I'll take what I can get. That this is a boon to all players and not just those who are forking out cash... well, so be it. It costs me nothing for them to benefit too.
