Compensation for ESO+?

I won't restate the on going issues, but rather ask if there's any chance of getting my subscription comped? Either by extending it a few days or the addition of a few hundred crowns. Alternatively, is there a way to refund my sub 1 year sub, of which I've played 3 months of, so I can just pick up playing again when they sort this out?

I approve, it's been 1 week that I can't play. Last week it was the queues and now the long download

Yeah, and I should add that this is way worse than what happened with FF14 Endwalker's launch and they add 21 days to everyone's sub. And the game wasn't even broken, the queue was long.

Something more than "apologies" would be appropriate - after they fix the game to playable standards please.

Other games without subscription give compensation when game is down for awhile or a bug happens.

But lets be real the performance last 8 days has been unacceptable for ESO who is a far superior game.

Something should be done this time as nowhere has game been unplayable for 8 days. That's nearly a third of eso plus monthly time

Coming from FF14, it is really weird given how the game's producer, in tears, apologizes for delaying an expansion because he selfishly wanted to polish it up a bit more.

I was just about to make a thread of a similar nature. I don't normally say players should be compensated for things that break in ESO, because normally issues that are as bad as what we've seen clear up within a day or two.

This, however, is the worst update I can remember, and I've been playing since closed beta. Not only have these issues been going on for a week now, but after two rounds of maintenance things got worse instead of better.

I really think that in this case, it's not asking too much or "being entitled" to ask for SOME sort of real, tangible apology. Not more of this "sorry we're working on it" stuff (which I know that it's not Kevin or Gina's fault that that's all they're allowed to tell us), but some form of actual compensation. Two free weeks of ESO+ for everyone, or 1k Crowns, or a few Crown Crates, a free Pet or Mount or Costume, or a package of things with gold, mats, Attunable Crafting Stations, etc (think something like the boxes we got during stuff like latest one we had for Blackwood, or the one we got for the charity when we had to kill a bunch of Dragons).

Just...something other than words we've heard so many times over the years that they mean nothing.

They don't and won't give compensation for ESO+.
PC EU had in the past way more issues than NA ever had, with solid 16h hour maintenances which wasn't rare to see, the day Greymoor released,EU had a full 24h maintenance and no, nobody got compensation for anything.
    Total ESO playtime: 8325 hours
    ESO plus status: Cancelled
    ESO currently uninstalled.

It would be nice, but I can't imagine that ever happening.

What I would like to see is for literally everyone to get each and every one of the free daily login rewards for the month, considering that I've missed about half of them so far due to the infinite login queue, maintenance, and other issues that made it impossible to even log in for whole days at a time. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Console was offline for 3 days last year after a broken patch. They rearranged the daily rewards so we got the main one and I think they gave us some Scrolls or a reskinned pet or something.

Wait? ZoS has apologized for the servers performance before? God damn that's news to me! Usually it seems we're told to just shut up and like it! And if they fix a bug, talking about it after the fact is a bannable offense!

Anyway, I just cancelled my ESO+ subscription. Honestly it is rather sickening how many necessary things are locked behind the subscription nowadays. Want housing to be useful? PAY US! Want to be able to craft? PAY US! Want to play DLC? PAY US! (Which is normal, but they are still full price except during events. And only ever seen one bundle. A better way to do it would be to have DLC's accessible during their anniversary events, rather than just "PAY US, a little less!" Or to reduce the price of the old ones like every other MMO.)

Kinda bad form when a company does not compensate paying customers in some form. Even Wargaming compensates players with free time, etc and that is a company that had a bunch of community contributors quit because of it's horrible anti consumer practices lol

It's foolish to ask for game to be free, and it be a good game. To a degree, 'good' is subjective.
It is not foolish to expect the game to work. I'm certain that at this point the problems with ESO are built into the game under the hood. As such, if a fix comes it will not be any time soon.
I still buy a month every now and then to play for a while. I do this with several games I like.

I don't mind subscriptions and find it to be the best form of monetization. I've seen too many games go F2P and then take a nose dive in both game and player quality.

However, when I can't use that sub, I do expect that to be comped. Not due to some sense of entitlement, but because I'm paying for access that I am barred from through no fault of my own AND it costs them nothing. That second point is key here. I'm not asking for anything that would cost them anything nor asking for anything that I haven't already paid for. I just want my lost time subbed back. That's it. I think that's far from unreasonable.

Yeah, he's pretty awesome. I'm 100% sure that should he ever leave/die/whatever, Squenix would run that game into the ground within a few months. Not hyperbole, I really think it would happen that fast.

Just because they aren't obligated to compensate people doesn't mean they shouldn't do it. It's hurting them a lot more to let things keep going in this manner than it would for them to give some sort of actual compensation. It would actually help them out a lot because it would be SOME sort of proof that they actually care, to some tiny extent.

There comes a time when empty words no longer work. Action, or inaction, speaks a lot louder than anything they can tell us at this point.

I normally don't add to stuff like this, but this time? I agree. Especially since our monthly free furniture gift has been stealthed to now be every 6-odd weeks instead.

C'mon, ZOS, even Blizzard regularly comp'd people free game time for downtime after new patch drops sent everything up the wall. Are you guys going to say you have worse customer service than _Blizzard_ ?

Challenge yourselves to be better, maybe. [hint, hint] :)

They used to do things like this. That was why ESO was considered less predatory than other MMOs. During free play weeks, ESO subs would get for example, free crates or other items. Crates (actual ones, not the Oro ones) were monthly rewards, as well.

They used to do more gifts, were more involved in the game. Customer Service responded "in character" and sometimes even directly ingame. For example, taking things out of a locked bank for you, and returning them to you, live.

In Cyrodil, for example, there a monuments to former community leaders who'd made a difference.

You are worth it. Canceling subs like this is okay. It's a statement. Speaking up is okay. It's a statement against disregardment. Judging by the crashes, their employees need this support, too. I had heard rumors of higher IT turnover, which is not good in a complex codebase like an MMO. We should love playing the game; their employees should love working there.

I expect they'd like that culture back, as well, and it would be healthier and more stable of a game, and community, going forward.

    Gamers, not shareholders.
