Noticed it before patch when the option was marked as "beta".
When the option is ON very often (but not every time) the game hangs on the loading character screen (permanent loading screen with music and static eso logo) when you switch between characters.
When the option is OFF there is no such problems.
And after last update the option is ON by default.

    That's what it says in the patch notes.

    I turned it off, it made my cpu go up about 8-10c and AIO fans going nutz with no actual improvements to FPS (already running up to 160+).

    I mean if you have problems with char switching hangs just turn it off.
