How to remove dyed costume colors without subscription?

I bought a dye with gems so I can color some of my costumes. BUT, it appears that I can't return the costume to its default colors. Is it so?

Is this one way street? I can buy the dyes but cannot revert the change to default values?

Non-ESO Plus members are not able to remove dyes applied to costumes, but are able to purchase and apply new Dye Stamps from the Crown Store.

ESO Plus members are able to remove any dyes added to their costumes from any regular Outfit Stations as shown here.

If you don't want to subscribe, you can wait for a free ESO+ trial, which will give you the ability to remove the dyes.

That being said, I wish that dye stamps were reversible without "Oh, you'll have to subscribe or buy another dye stamp to fix it if you don't like the result." That's yet one more example of "Create a problem; sell the solution."

....this all used to be free for everyone, minus the gold cost. Anybody could dye anything, at anytime, as long as you had the gold for it....

Still is, kinda..you can dye armor for free - that never changed. I thought it was also the same with your "one outfit per character" but I could be wrong about that
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Exactly. They (ZOS) are here for the sell - you can purchase and purchase. But to return to the original form is forbidden - if you don't purchase something else.

I subbed for years, but not anymore. And the game not only makes your QoL considerably harder, it practically disables some of the functions to barebones functionality - like the housing items (25 items max. for inn room, hello?!), bank space (cannot use any), transmute crystals etc.

Still, this won't make me sub in any foreseeable future and will wait for a trial to sort these things.
