    Fixed wireless internet.

    Fixed wireless.

Methinks this person is either trolling or posting random words. In the event the post is serious, I'd refer them to complaints by large numbers of people all suffering from lag and unresponsiveness, whether in one group or not, and doing anything from overland, world bosses, dungeons or trials, based in different countries and using different ISPs. Also, when other games seem to have no issue. Are the ISPs targeting ESO specifically to downgrade performance? Because in that case I think ZOS could drag them into court for it.

It's a type of internet connection commonly seen in rural areas, where an internet connection is to be provided in a remote location, where it's just not feasible to lay hundreds of kilometers of cable out for a handful of customers. Instead, a wireless radio connection can be made between a customer and the provider, much like mobile phone connections.

Again, it's a common type of internet connection in rural areas, and is a connection frequently sold by Australian ISP's providing an NBN connection in rural areas, where it's not feasible to run fiber cable out to some remote town or other location.

I hop in every now and then. I expected issues with the latest release, and boy did ZOS deliver :)

I didn't know that and the name seems odd, but I take back my remark about that part. I stand by what I said about connection quality not explaining issues felt by different people in different places through different ISPs, who have no such issues in other games.

Canada here with 600mbps line. I have zero issues and run about an average of 90-110 latency. Your speed doesn't matter tho if you are having send that information further. The further the distance is between the user and the server host the greater the latency. The delay also depends on the networking efficiency and the quality of the routing devices.

Other games work fine. Stop spreading lies please. Of course bad connections are going to be problematic, but ESO's issues isn't players with bad connections. It's server/client related.

It's the day after the release and you're expecting flawless performance on a game run from a single mega-server?

Except this stuff was around before. It just got worse and spread with update 26, just like it did with update 25 and lasted the entire cycle.

This is not a launch issue. it's the disease spreading

As a heads up for people wanting to repeat the claim that the video shows lousy internet:

    - The fight resets out of the blue at 0:29. And 1:59. And 2:39. Even though there are 3-4 players engaged in the fight, presumably in different physical locations and over 4 separate connections. Bad connection could explain lagginess and unresponsiveness. It cannot explain a reset of an ongoing fight with several different players involved.
    - Check the chat window. There are numerous people complaining of the same issues. It is not believable that they all have particularly bad connections.
    - ZOS have admitted to performance issues (among others) in Western Skyrim and took down the servers multiple times to attempt to fix them.

If your response to the video is "connection quality", you're straw manning the issue and derailing the thread.

Hi. The same at EU servers. Even with a 2080 TI you have lags. I had seen guys which have souch one.
You can get up to 20% more peformance at 1980 x 1080 custom resolution and set the game to this. Downscaling works.
I play at this settings since yesterday. And it went from 35 to 50 (stable) fps. But lag (spikes) -_-

Client and server performance are two completely different things. Graphics card and resolution will only help client performance, ie FPS drops, when the vast majority of issues people are experiencing are related to server performance, ie latency and server responsiveness.

Assuming your connection isn't the bottleneck (your connection would literally have to be hitting thousands of milliseconds of latency to be the bottleneck), players can do almost nothing to fix server issues. That's entirely on Zenimax and your ISP.

Considering that these problems are so widespread, though, ISP has nothing to do with it. People all over the world are experiencing the exact same issues, so it has nothing to do with ISP or individual connections, the servers themselves are dying, so this is solely on Zenimax to fix.
