PS4 - Having a hard time retrieving dropped items

Since yesterdays patch, I've noticed when trying to picking up dropped items, I have to continuously hit the X button to retrieve the dropped items (normally you would click it once to pocket the item). Last night I was only in North and South Elswrye and Auridon territories.
