Just got a Master Writ to craft Withered Tree Inn Venison Pot Roast. Never seen this purple recipe. I have obtained loads of purple recipes but I have never seen this one (maybe around 100). WTF. Is it a rare drop in the Imperial City???? I have 3 other lvl 150 purple recipes on the character and I get the never released recipe!!!!! Come on Zenimax. I did a Master Craft on another character with enchanting and it was ridiculously easy. PLEAASSE FIX YOUR GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do I need to drop this quest to get another Writ. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part of being a Master Provisioner is knowing a lot of those extremely rare recipes.

I can only imagine the post when OP gets a writ that calls for a legendary nirnhorned item.

I have played for 2 years and have gotten 3 of that level food recipes. I could more easily make a nirnhoned legendary dagger. Why require a specific extremely rare drop? Or better one specific extremely rare drop? Good points in the replies. I am just raging over a mistake ESO made and will fix later in a patch. Just like they do with the other problems that others and myself have discovered for them. Who designs this crap? Do they know what they are doing? Not all the time. Must be Igor coming up from the dungeon. LOL

They won't fix this, a master provisioner will have 90%+ of the recipes because they're a master of their craft.

Some context on this, I have all but 6 blue and 1 purple and the rare XP recipe because I ran around guild stores buying them as I wanted my character to be able to make all food/drink. There are many more people I know like this.

Master writs are not designed to be done by people who haven't heavily specialised in their craft, if you can't do the provisioning ones then try selling/trading them for enchanting or something else you're max skilled in.

Whats funny, as a master provisioner I found that the low level rare foods were much harder to obtain then the higher lvls...

Yup, one of the failures of One Tamriel is scales recipes. V150 ones are worthless and everything else is worth tens of thousands.

I did the enchanting master writ. Easy as a daily quest. WTF. I bet you 1 in 10,000 know all the vet 150 recipes. Is the game designed for 1 in 10,000. I think not. Bethesda screwed up but will never admit it!!!! Grats on knowing every recipe in the game. They used to be for sale on guild traders but not so much know thta Bethesda nerfed recipes. LOL They never admit mistakes. That would be human!!!

The master writ drop chances are based off the number of Purple and Gold recipes known, so they expect you to know a lot of them to get regular master writs.

They haven't messed up or broken anything, master writs were designed to be a reward for serious crafters, not something every casual crafter was able to do. If you're missing a recipe for a writ you can either go buy that recipe from a guild store or you can sell the master writ and use the money to buy one you can do.

Mm pot roast. I eat it all the time. Good stuff.

Can you turn in food created by others or does it have to be created by the character turning it in? Wondering if I should start selling yummy pot roast or keep it all for myself.

    No.

Crafted items can be created by another character of yours ... but not by another player.

The real question is: How many vouchers is the reward for the master writ the OP is whining about? Is it a meager six (6) vouchers?

Recipes are the hardest things to learn. Equipment attributes can easily be bought from guild store, fighters guild, etc. and by drops from specific quests. Recipes are not able to be crafted or taught only learned from rare drops.

Saw a text chat about Pot Roast. Same thing happened to another player. I got 3 equivalent recipes but not that one which has not been available for that long. LOL. I wish Bethesda was run by humans!

Seems like Bethesda nerfed cooking and recipes with all the special events and One Tamriel. I used to be able to buy purple recipes for 3000. Now I sell them quickly for 10k. Seen them in traders for 60K. AND THIS IS HOW THEY TRY TO FIX OVERSIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be Human!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One Tamriel changed the way zones drop recipes as well as the recent increase in demand because of their requirement in unlocking master writs.

Also I am starting to wonder if you're trolling in this thread rather than being serious. I mean no offence by this comment but you seem to be entirely disconnected from how this game actually works and making a lot of ridiculous posts without understanding (or seeking to understand) the subjects.

That's too bad. I did this writ, I think it was 5? Hard to recall. It was not very many though. I'd buy it for 2k/voucher if I saw it on a guild store though, it's a quick one for me. It's probably worth more to people who don't already have the recipe to just sell it and save themselves the frustration.

Sorry. I am not trolling. This character had almost all recipes in the game. Has 3 Cp160 food recipes but not that particular one. I actually gave the recipe to another character a month ago so they could have a CP160 food because its all the same right?? Looks like Bethesda made me wrong. It was my first writ. And I still think the whole thing is poorly designed and I fault the game designers. They could have done better. I think the explanation of the update was very incomplete. I was clueless about what was happening because Bethesda did not properly set my expectations. Poor job review from me.

I did notice that purple recipes are dropping less frequently on the daily quests.

I too got this writ and am interested in obtaining this recipe. I have quite a few purple recipes. I enjoyed getting the one for Orzogas Red Frothgar because it was attainable through a quest. That was interesting, took time, was fun, and led to other recipes. It would be good if these master writs involved obtaining recipes through quests. Or, as the 'masterful feast' title implies, required making a number of different foods in large amounts.
The alchemy master writs are always cool because they require some thinking and logic about how to get three attributes out of three ingredients. I love those. And the ingredients are obtainable -- not always easy, but by no means as rare as this. Haven't got an enchanting one yet, but I'm thinking it's probably similar.
Silly to base a master writ on an extremely rare drop, and no, not all serious master provisioners have anywhere near all the recipes. It all depends on the luck of the drop. My character has been at this for some time. I have purchased recipes, my khajit has stolen them, and other characters have contributed them. I've never even see the Withered Tree Inn recipe, and assumed I'd have to find withered tree inn somewhere and do a quest, but this thread makes me see, no, no hope for it unless it just drops randomly. Not fun.
As to the idea that one should just sell master writs until one get one they can do....well...you don't know what the writ is until you use it, then you can't sell it, so that's not possible. So why suggest it?
