Game Freezes on log-in screen.

First of all, I have to say you guys did a decent job on this game. As an Elder Scrolls Fan I loved it. But because I can't connect the game and when I click "Support" tab on this website it directs me to a blank page that says "Error in exception handler.". Not that I believe support is gonna respond soon because as a newbie player I asked a stupid question about a cosmetic "bug" that I thought it was a bug and It never got the respond. So today I played ESO like always, then log off, did other things for couple of hours, updated my video driver to GeForce 340.52 and tried to log in again. First of all, without any patches client didn't recognize my computer so I alt+tab'ed to view the code on my mail. When I alt+tab'ed again to ESO the game froze and I had to restart my computer. Second time I tried to change settings to Windowed(Fulscreen) without logging in, the game froze as soon as I did. I tried for five times after that, which ended with five restarts. Did anyone had the same issue? Or what might be causing this?

My wife has had this exact same problem, repairing the build didn't work.

There are no firewall or antivirus problems, my PC gets in fine. She has submitted a support ticket.

Have you tried a different driver? NVIDIA and ESO don't play well together sometimes. I have to run an older driver to play. I also have to run DX9 and windowed full screen in the usersettings.txt file or the game freezes.

There is a known bug trying to get to the support page from the forums. You have to access it from the main Home page.

I have exactly the same problem on my laptop. However, it runs perfectly on my primary gaming PC with the same drivers, settings etc. Doesn't make sense yet, got to play around with it a little more to figure it out.

- Closing the Launcher while playing.
- Check the "usersettings.txt"' file:

Access the folder for The Elder Scrolls Online on the Documents folder (by default it should be C:\Users\Username\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live) and open the file "usersettings.txt" with Notepad (or some other word editor).
Once this is open, delete everything, and copy and paste the follow setting over the current ones:

Then save the document, close it, and relaunch the game.

- Another solution for Windows users is to add the game to high priority:

Open the Task Manager while the game is running and locate the process running named "Eso.exe".
Perform a right-click on that process and set priority to "High" (please note that changing this while having other programs running might cause them to perform slower).

I fixed it by changing the fullscreen option in usersettings.txt from SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "2" to SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "0". It will open the game in windowed mode and you will be able to switch between programs without the game freezing (getting the code from your mail) . At least that helped me. I hope it helps everyone else. Thanks for the post anyway ZOS_HugoP.
