Cyrodiil - lag out

Thornwithin
OK, so after reading many threads to do with lag in Cyrodiil, I have done everything I can think of, reducing my settings to minimum, playing on 800x600 res, port forwarding, etc. and even when not close to a zerg in Cyrodiil, I lag out hardcore.

Please any advice would be welcome.

I am more awaiting some kind of technical support or even acknowledgement of the problem from someone here, if memory serves a comment was made at announcement time of this game that it would be playable from everywhere....for instance a comment on why an EU server is being hosted in the US is beyond me.

There is no technical support on the forums. Customer support from the tech team can only come from a CS ticket, http://help.elderscrollsonline.com

Everyone here can give you tips, etc, but actual hard facts don't come from the forums about uber-specific fixes for individual players.

That being said, you are not the only one. A lot of people (myself included) have not been able to play in Cyrodil since 1.2.3. They said they will be hotfixing it "soon"
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Hello all,

We just finished pushing a hotfix for the FPS issue. We’ve done as much as we can in a hotfix to alleviate the issue. The impact will vary—you may see noticeable improvements or marginal ones. This is by no means a final or complete fix to the issue, but we felt it important to do what we could in the short term now. We’re continuing to work on performance improvements that we’ll roll out in upcoming patches.
We’ll keep you updated as we make more progress, and we thank you for your patience.

No change , still horrible. ZOS please hire some graphics engine programmers that know what they are doing.

The issue is still there for me. goes from 60 FPS to 5fps and stays there. Kicks in only during large siege battles and then persists when I'm out in the open with Max settings and Min settings.

As soon as I port to the Alik'r Desert (v9, my favorite zone so far) , it goes back to normal at 60fps plus and stays there.

This is ONLY in Cyrodil. Never had a problem with an FPS drop in anything PVE

    3.5ghz Intel processor
    2 tb of disk
    24gb of ram
    gtx 670ti 2gb vm
    Win 8 OS
    No temperature issues

It seems like it did get a little better because it took longer to kick in.

Patched your useless hot fix and now its worse then it was before..earlier i was running at 12 fps which is somewhat playable after your useless hotfix...3 and intermittent load screens while in battle in cyrodill.. Got so bad i died to enemies I couldn't see.

I have never seen a dev team patch more things only to make things worse after every patch as zenimax this is just pathetic...Maybe you should think about hiring out or getting some consulting from real developers before you lose the remaining player base?

    Just friggin terrible......

I specifically like the we have done as much as we can part of the quote..basically they are admitting their ineptness and how clueless they are but refuse to get help that might actually help...

The management of this game is just as pathetic as the dev team...

I have a pretty damned good rig and I was at 12 fps in Cyrodiil tonight and that was with an average sized battle. I'm not gonna play when its like this. Sorry

Here's an idea, just put a slider to let PvPers turn off the new lighting that seems to be responsible for making the game unplayable.

How about some PvP that works, poor fps, dropping out, lag, most of the time I don't even know the weapon I have switched to. PvP usually takes up 70% of my MMO experience and I have given ESO a lot more time to sort it out than I normally would, because I love the elder scrolls series, but when is it enough and in my frustration instead of hitting the "Quit button" its the "Cancel Sub" button.

Yup hotfix didn't help nothing when frames drop to 5-6 so can't play in Cyrodiil!

OK, seems its a wide ranging issue, I have found that my lag was fixed by using a tunneling service to be able to play for more than a few minutes in Cyrodiil, but my rig is also very decent and the issues revolving fps are based on the large amounts of effect going on according to what they are trying.

Lighting was a very good example of what might be wrong, lets all maybe try and veer off the attack routine and make some helpful, not sarcastic, suggestions and see what they do with it.

Best solution is to not renew your subscription for a few months until it is hopefully fixed, You wont be able to do anything on your side OP
  • silvestru_liviueb17_ESO
    1) Just do a "effin" rollback to 1.2.2 or eliminate your damn stupid "illuminating engine" or whatever crap it is, had no issue before that.
    2) Make a total separate server just for pvp.
    3) Same 3 FPS as before your "hotfix" :O

How about a credit. The game is unplayable right now..................

It worked fine prior to 1.2.4.

It's unbelievably bad right now. I finally gave up on pvp but it seems to have spread to pve - ability animations nonexistent or severely delayed, enemies don't populate until after they've already hit you like 3 times, I had the interior of a building just not load at all even after almost a minute. My connection, specs, etc are exactly the same as it was before 1.2.4 (and 1.2.3), when the game ran completely smoothly on the graphical side of things so I really don't want to hear the usual holier-than-thou stuff from people who always seem so eager to compare their set-ups, haha.

I've tried deleting the files people suggest, trying every imaginable combination of graphics settings, nada. It's upsetting because I've got a nice window of time to play this through the weekend and catch up on leveling, which I feel I've fallen behind on, and instead I'll probably just have to ignore ESO until i see that yet another hot fix/patch has gone out that finally corrects this. I'm not the hyperbole type, but it really is unplayable atm.
