I was hoping someone would consider making this into an add-on. I really prefer the old elder scrolls music from Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim to the new music in ESO. I usually play those tracks in the background of my game from my desktop but there is one problem, battle music. I would really like to have an add-on that replaces the sound tracks to the classic music and then also switches to the classic battle music when I'm in battle.

I'm not even sure if this is possible (or allowed by the terms of use), but I wanted to go ahead and ask. I would be so verygrateful and excited if someone could make this.

    I'm not sure if I would consider Skyrim's music as being "classic" just yet, but I do miss the music from Morrowind. Good times. :) (Stupid autocorrect kept changing Morrowind to "Morrison's") :\

    While there is a "PlaySound" function, addons are unable to play sounds that are not part of the game already (plus we have to guess the sounds names). So this is outside the scope of addons.

    We can detect battle with addons, but the top level of interprocess communication we could whip up would be placing an icon on your game UI and you having a destop automation/screenreader programmer that interacts with your player accordingly.

    Propably looking into modding is a better approach. Since SweetFX was approved a purely "replace music" mod might be allowed.
    IF you have the rights to play the music while not running the proper game (it is propably licensed with the game only, unless provied as download). Maybe some sort of ingame playlist that can use whatever you have on computer might be doable by the Devs. But even that is legalyl shaky ground.

    I would like this. Jeremy Soule is just so awesome. He composed the main theme for ESO but that's it. The in-game music is ok, but it certainly does not carry the same weight and emotion that Soule's music can convey.

    Just turn down the in game music and use a music player to play the old music, you can get the music by extracting the files out the sounds.bsa file in the Skyrim data directory..

    Please read the OP before replying. He already does that.
    He would like to have dynamic music too however (battle music while in battle). Wich is not possible via addons.
