The prophet neither says nor does anything that a kid needs protecting from. Anyway, it's HIS kid, not yours or mine. As long as he doesn't go whining about how the game is inappropriate for his kid to see, then it's all good to me.
My middle daughter has absolutely no memory of going to see Jurassic Park at age 4 - the only one brave enough to go see it with me (I'd already screened it, to make sure it wasn't too gory or anything.) She wouldn't let me cover her eyes for that one two-second scene with the hand. She's 24 now, an avid reader with an interest in a lot of things, like I was at that age.
Hell, I grew up on Sir Graves Ghastly, who would show old horror movies (The Blob, the Thing, House of Wax, etc) on Saturday afternoons. They WERE scary movies back then.
My problem isn't really with kids, per se. It's the politics that surround them, use them as pawns that bugs me; so I bug the weenies back by telling them to go raise their kids on Baffin Island if they don't want them exposed to .. life.
