just get to the zone and start the beginning quests given by the npcs. take your time with them, practice with the siege equipment etc. keep zone chat up and follow the players text regarding zergs, combat areas and pushes. Use the map to follow the acronyms they use to understand what areas they are talking about. familiarize yourself with port jumps to keeps, how to get there etc. without joining any groups you can port to each keep, watch any action going on etc. look for vendors that sell wall repair kits, seige engines etc, tho you wont have any points to spend some can be bought for gold. make sure you have alot of soul gems of your level on hand.
when you are brave, ask in chat to join a group or watch for those asking for players to join theirs .... then do. be ready to port to where the majority are and do combat. stay away from keep gates, stay mobile, use your skills as you are able, stay with the zerg till you get better at pvp. if you have points get the pvp skills that you are able to on that skill line. make sure your pet is put up and use stealth when approaching action.
read guides on how to pvp with your class and what skills they use most.
have fun, it can be epic the first few times. be ready to die alot and spend most of the time riding back to action (dont follow straight lines to it)
oh, and join a full active campaign, hopefully on a winning side.
You can write in zonechat in cyrodiil that you are looking for a group to attack some castle, then if you play with a group you will get to know most stuff.
There are newfish missions available that will teach you about the various siege equipment and different vital points on the battlefield.
After you either skipped the new guy mission or finished it you willbe able tochoose from four mission boards.
There aretransit shrines(traveling shrines within cyrodiil that will let you travel to the keeps your alliance own, but you have to be at the starting zone for your alliance and use the wayshrine there to get back to pve areas.
That is some basics.

I want to start playing PVP but I am VET 10 and have never played. Is there anything I should know or any good groups you could recommend for a newbie?
