My main is a VR10 NB with her Tamriel Hero title, and completed Cadwell’s. She’s essentially done everything pre-Crag. Level 1 – VR7 was a blast. At no point did I ever feel like I “face-rolled” everything (a term all the kiddies love to over use today), but I never got really hung up or had progress blocked by trash either. At level 48 she took down Molag Bal in the first try. In VR7 Rivenspire she was killed by three skeevers. I could give you many more examples, but this will be too long as it is. There is not a chance on this ball of unholy dirt that VR trash mobs are balanced and appropriate. VR7 to 10 was such an irritating chore of a death-rez grind I simply won’t do it again as it is now. I have a VR4 sorc who’s just going to sit until they change this stuff, if they change this stuff. There’s a very big difference between challenging “veteran”” difficulty content, and just severely irritating, overly frustrating, and punishing not-fun-to-play content.

And for all of those who feel entitled to scold the majority of us who do not like VR as it is now, I erect the spine of stfu. Seriously, take your elitist attitudes, L2P, & noob insults elsewhere. No one wants to hear your lectures on what VR content “should be”, and especially not how you think we “should” feel about it. You’re all “Back in my day we played EQ1 with pool sticks shoved in various orifices and we liked it! We’re real MMO players! Not like you QQ’ers today who feel you should steam roll through everything and be handed a purple hat for it.” I don’t know if EQ1 is still up and running, but I know you can still buy pool sticks. So don’t fret too much, you can still mostly re-live the good old days.

    lol +10 Well said

If 2 AI healers/medics/menders are in the same mob of 3, they can take a VERY long time to kill because each healer will keep healing the other to full with like 500000 heals per second.

Sorc has no issues... you have 2 pets and critical surge + another pet(Atronach - ultimate) if needed... when you think about it you outnumber them. :)))

Yes the flying pet has low hp and apparently every NPC in the game just goes for her/it but still better the pet than you.

Also, if really bored just do Fire Ring(destro staff aoe) + light attack weaving... it gets the job done. Again, keep the pets as a distraction...

Pets are the true sorc power in solo pve... just like Nightblades have infinite resources so if they would roll with a Resto Staff they would be invincible... (yes i know most people play them like a ninja... them come here to complain about how their build with no healing or defenses is not viable). DK`s also have a lot of things like roar + god mode ulti(well more like a small god now after the nerfs) + good synergies with destro but then again most refuse to play them like that and would rather visit the resurrection shrines every 5 minutes...

Truth is you can just go Light armor + healing staff + some stamina defensive buff like Immovable or whatever and solo just fine but most would rather cut their hands than play like that..

Advice for the Heavy Armor users... the Hard Cap for armor is where its at... get there and you take 50% less damage... use a shield and block + stamina regen and you are a true tank. If you just get it to the soft cap and use a 2h you will die a lot as it doesn`t work, you are not a dps and you are not a tank, you are a weak hybrid....

EDIT: Also if you don`t mind it being slow... using pets + the last spell in summoning(the shield one morphed for damage) + healing staff + atronach will solo anything and everything... not fast as pets do low dps(scales with magicka but its still not much) but you + pets will do enough and between the shield and the heals you will not die. I made the build for my GF who never played a MMO before... just Dragon Age and Skyrim and she even managed to solo the world bosses with it so yea...

Most classes have a cheesy build like that able to solo everything but most don`t like how it plays so they go for less optimal but fun builds... can`t blame them. This is why a difficulty slider would have been a decent idea...

why the hell would vet be easy? Better question: why would anyone want vet to be easy. I was personally not impressed at how pathetically easy pre vet was and it was nice to have a shock going into vet difficulty. I had to rethink ways to accomplish my playstyle and am much better now. If you actually want to pvp you should be thanking the devs for vet because playing against hardcore mmo players is MUCH harder than any other content. if you want to biting jabs spam your way through 100's of hours of gameplay, honestly, wtf is wrong with you.

Well, techically speaking, not really THAT much stronger than normal mobs. Their damage scales in pretty much linear fashion from lvl 1 to VR10 (aka VR3 mob doesn't hit all that harder than lvl 49 one).
Health scales kind of exponentially though, going from almost no increases on 1-40 to really MAJOR increases just over a few levels (see trolls going from 7200 to 15000 HP in less than 5 VR ranks).

And worst of all, player damage seems to scale worst of all. It's so bad it's friggin logarithmic. Lvl 50 (=VR1) is the last level majority of your soft caps increase. After that, you don't grow any stronger, you just grow "rounded up" - since it's a waste to overcharge one stat too much, you just get more and more stats to soft caps, which however doesn't make you almost any stronger than you were at 50. The only thing that seems to continue scaling in linear fashion is Weapon damage (but due to way weapon skills scale, Weapon Damage stat's actual effectiveness is only 52%). Caps for regens stay the same on all VR ranks and other stats get minimal (aka about 20 or even less) increases every rank.

Not to mention the damned defense caps. Those things are the doom of gameplay. In every "normal" MMORPG just the basic heavy armor should get you to about 40-45% mitigation, which can be boosted to the cap of 75%... now, in ESO, your cap is 25% (majority of people use cloth or leather in which they have about 10/15% only though), which cannot even normally get much higher, unless you specifically use an ability to overcharge your armor/mr to a hard cap of 50%.
    good read

and spell damage don't go up more neither, why is that, ZoS?

PVP balance, mmos are about endgame after all. if we were to just constantly get more powerful we would all one hit each other in cryodill. the game has lots of one player content. as vet increased you need a partner... it is a multiplayer game; you cant expect all available pve to be solo-able and im quite sure they never claimed all content would be. at at v9 templar i still have not found pve i cant solo anyway.

you and all your hardcore mmo players can enjoy the game by yourselves when it goes f2p.

If I wanted a regular MMO, there is plenty of other options. This game was not sold that way.

EDIT: It's not because it's hard, it's because it's tedious, non-rewarding, illogical with the only purpose of leveling.
