Level 40 and bored? Wait until you start the loooong VR grind.

Well after I read that, I just unsubscribed lol. This game needs a lot more help to make it engaging. I also hate that every player I pass is a Vampire. Really? Underworld MMO now? I guess it did not bug me as much as the combat being boring and slow lol.

The VR grind has that affect on many. I almost lost my will around VR7 but managed to push on.

What grind? Oh, you mean those quests you don't bother to listen to or ask questions about and just run around trying to push to max level as fast as possible?
This is pretty much the least grindy MMO I ever played. So far I must have done several hundred quests and I think there was just one which asked me to kill EIGHT (gasp) critters!
Compare that to "kill 30 X and 20 Y and bring me 15 Z for which of course you will need to kill another 50 F" - that's grindy.
Okay, you are right. Grind is different than questing.
But that doesn't change the fact that this game is VERY BORING. Even with all the dungeons, veteran dungeons and PvP...it is too boring.
Some grindy MMOs are even less boring than this game. (imho)

Oh, those repetitive quests with lots of generic NPCs that looks almost identical to each other, except for the different hair/hats or clothes ? (especially at EB areas)
I got bored and stopped paying attention to them.
Pushing to the max level as fast as possible ??
I've reached VR3, got bored and stopped questing.
=(
Valid complaint I think, but that didn't mean the VR levels had to be implemented in the God-awful Asian-grindfest way they have been where mobs have insane health and defense simply as a huge time-sink to level up and the XP bar barely moves from one day to the next: that isn't fun, it's entirely demotivational.LexonLightbringer wrote: »I imagine it was tacked on very late in development to justify end-game content.
Wasn't done to be end game content. Was done because of the outcry from gamers over not being able to see the other areas. Saying this game was to restrictive, not enough open world. Now they all complain about having to go through it. Lol, just cant win as a game developer.

If you are bored, try something new.
A nightblade does not have to be a sneaky assassin.
A sorcerer does not have to be a robe-clad staff-wielder
On my NB, i went from DW assassin to healer to archer to tank and back to DW assassin. Heavy armor/siphoning, light armor/destro staff, etc.etc.

This is definitely one of the games strengths.

I love how people are unable to make a game fun on their own anymore. Now everything must be handed to them and scripted. I am leveling my 2nd character atm due to a nice bug on my main, and honestly i just killed mobs to lvl to now i'm about to take my sweet time in leveling. Those who rush to cap will find the game boring, but if you pace your self and find things to do on your own...such as and im not kidding skyrim up a mountain. did that today and it was quite funny...sadly getting down did not go as well.

Well, this game may simply not be your cup of tea as far as the basic setting goes.
Or even the basic premise - Elder Scrolls games were always big on immersion - if you can't immerse yourself in the game world it probably does become overwhelming. And if you do content too fast and consequently do not pay attention to it, it can become repetitive because it all blurs together. Like an action movie with too much action.
For me, it's like reading a good book, I always listen to quest NPCs because 90% of the time the voice acting is superb and it gives a lot to the immersion. I always ask follow up questions because I want to know more about the quest I am going to do.
And so far I don't remember seeing repetitive quests. Yes, there are many quests where you have to deal with the restless dead or daedra or local bandits/rebels/whatnot. But the quests themselves? Always different.
It's like fantasy books, you could say that each and every one of them is basically the same story. And yet people keep reading them. Variation, that's what counts. Putting a different spin on the same old tune.
I am VR1 now, and still enjoying myself as on the first day of early access - I even walk around all the time, artwork and ambience in this game are superb and you can't properly appreciate the details if you zip around all the time. Looking forward to seeing the rest of Tamriel.
So what you have sounds like classic burnout. Slow down, smell the flowers. Fish. Take a walk through the virtual woods. You might find the game is more enjoyable that way.
P.S. And no, I don't have unlimited amounts of free time on my hands, so it's not that.

Interesting thing, I've played Oblivion and Skyrim and I've loved them !
But this game feels SO repetitive to me. =(
I just hit level 40, and I have found combat slow paced and kind of boring. The world if nothing short of beautiful, but over all this game has me bored. Animation of attacks feel weak, everyone is PvP is a SwordnBoard Vampire, and the combat, as I mentioned, is very dull. Weapons are for the most part lame. Daedric armor was an insult, and in general everything but the enviroment is not any fun to look at. Some armors are ok, but this MMO is the most beautiful bore I have every played.
Hoping for something at Veteran ranks that is fun?
