MORONIC key binding "load defaults" behavior

Consider this a rage post.

For the 4th or 5th time, I've hit x and reloaded my Keybinding defaults. No warning, no confirmation-just all my keybindings GONE. Because I hit one key. X. In the one window where you're likely to be testing and hitting various keys. In the one window where you are likely to have meticulous custom settings applied.

Worse--I happen to use x to dismiss windows. It causes me no problems anywhere else--in the few places it might, there's a confirm dialog--and it makes sense for my play. Except in this idiotic window that unlike pretty much all the other settings windows, gives you no warning before loading defaults.

Idiotic, stupid, half-ass, inconsistent, inconsiderate, and annoying as hell.

ADD A CONFIRMATION TO LOAD DEFAULTS IN KEY BINDINGS PLEASE!

/end rant

Ah, done this so many times. That big X is always going to mean close window until a split second after you press it

Well if you remove your first sentence, the sentence beginning with Idiotic, and your last sentence, then it would be a normal post, not ragey at all.

As for the Content, well that seems reasonable, so long as they don't over do it, I don't want to have to hit confirmations for everything (in fact they could remove a few for me), but keybindings are different. You don't want several minutes of work wasted because of a random key.

Yes, even when enraged, I'm invariably articulate and well reasoned. Just my lot in life, I guess.

Not that I feel comfortable with in-game quality-of-life improvements being primarily the responsibility of third-party addon developers, but..

There's an addon called Binder that will save you a great deal of future headaches. Further, it allows copying/transferring your backups of your keybinds to other characters.

    It's worth looking in to!

How bout a toggle switch to toggle whether or not it will ask for confirmation? The people that designed the UI don't seem to understand customization at all. I shouldn't need addons for basic customization of any kind(especially something as simple as this).

Thanks--hadn't seen that, but I'll give it a whirl. I too hate depending on addons for basic stuff like this, but hey, this is a ridiculous UI oversight and I'll take what I can get for now.

(If I designed the Settings UI, I would be embarrassed as hell that I had to depend on some LUA scripter to bring my work up to such a basic standard.)
