After any Maintanance = problems in game, everytime

why is it after every maintenance, my game gets choppy, I get very long loading screens. It does smooth out most of the time, but not always. I don't have a super computer, but its not trash either. I have a fairly fast processor, fair vid card and 12g ram. So what's the deal?
