the old school stat method

damonpeltob14_ESO
do you miss strength, dexterity, vitality, wisdom, and intelligence? i sure do the way eso's stat system is a bit vague. i know this is something that cant be changed just wondering how others feel about it.

Should've went with oblivion's stat and skill system. Where the more you use a particular skill, the more that skill levels up and the numerous different attributes, agility, endurance, intelligence, luck, personality, speed, strength and willpower.
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

True. I think that would have contributed to more bonding with the character.
This is all part of the game.

Maybe they should have used the Oblivion stat system, but what's done is done, it won't get changed because it's to big a hassle to alter it.
People believe what they either want to be true or what they are afraid is true!

I posted about this in another thread the other day...

These stat discussions don't catch on.. I'm sure most people feel it's too late for such drastic changes. I think that the stam/magicka and balance issues could be addressed far more easily if you have more variables (old school stats) to work with. The current system it too simplistic to work....

Just start with the Morrowind attributes and tweak as needed:

    Agility
    Chance to hit
    Block
    Dodge
    Bow/Dagger Damage

    Endurance
    Max Health
    Health regen
    Max Stamina
    Stam regen

    Intelligence
    Max Magicka
    Spell Damage
    Destruction staff damage

    Speed
Rate of movement when walking, running, and swimming

    Strength
    Damage for all other weapons

    Willpower
    Max Magicka
    Magicka regen
    Magic Resistance
    Healing staff damage

Instead of putting attributes points into HP/Mana/Stamina, we would level up the above attributes. Health, Magicka, and Stamina would all be derived from these stats. This is pretty standard in MMOs and RPGs and even in most of the Elder Scrolls titles..

Should've went with oblivion's stat and skill system.

Or Morrowind, pretty much the same but there was even more. The jumping everywhere or jumping on a doorway to get agility up :D

I would not mind skills increasing by the use, however I do not think it would work in MMO and balancing stuff etc so well. There was and still exists StickMUD which has this, you level your skills by using them.
