I would like the Bolt Escape nerf applied to everything across the board. No one spell/ability should be singularly spammed in repetition. People complain about WOW being a game based on "F1, F3, F2, F3, F1, F3..." yet ESO is largely about "1, 2, 1, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3..."
1. This should also be applied to Ultimate abilities when used within 20 seconds of the previous expiration. This will prevent people from living in Ultimate mode.
2. This would improve the game, and encourage people to mix it up a bit. If a spell or ability is overpowered this can at least balance that.
3. This would also help reduce needs to nerf specific items/sets/skills by offsetting their ability to be used in mass repetition. Some things might still be OP which is okay if it isn't TOO OP and this gives all those abilities a reasonable limit.
4. This would also be better than limiting us with cooldown systems. Instead of being denied my abilities just because I used it, I would be able to use it again just with a higher cost.
The nerf applied to Bolt Escape isn't much of a nerf. It is a game improvement that can be applied across the board, and would fix many issues.
Bots would have a harder time, 1-ability spammers would have a harder time, people who just live in ultimate at all times would have a harder time.
I used to really hate this change but it doesn't impact my gameplay one bit. This would also encourage a badly needed 1-9 bar instead of 1-5 bar.
Making room for needing to use more than 2 abilities per engagement with enemy. This would also reveal which abilities need powered up instead of down.
I am a sorcerer. I spam Impulse and Crystal Fragments.
This is because I only have 5 slots to use. I have to use "only" what does highest damage. Right now, it is those 2.
Say you nerf them. I will then instead spam something else instead.
The problem is that I only have one "optimal" ability that does "acceptable" damage to an enemy. Nerfing that ability only changes the ability that fits this role, it doesn't fix the underlying problem.
The best fix, is for some of my other spells to be more useful to me. Some of them perhaps to be more potent and cost more mana to use.
So if I want one lousy heal, something that gives me a ward of some kind, that is 2/5 of my bar! If I want something that hits for high damage, that is 3 slots. If I want Inner Light, that is 4 slots. It doesn't feel like it matters what my 5th slot is, Bolt Escape or Volcanic Rune.
I have one ability that I use once (Inner Light). One ability that mitigates a little damage (Harness Magicka). That leaves 3 abilities to figure out how to kill an enemy. I only need 3 abilities for that, and will probably use 2. But, that is the problem, right?
