Let's face it guys the leaderboards in PvP are not skilled base what's so ever. A bott that can follow zerg groups will make it to the number one spot in weeks.
I'm all for some competitive pvp, don't get me wrong I would be switching up back and forth because PvP like anything else needs more content.

pecheckler✭✭✭✭✭YesNobody I know even considers cyrodiil PvP. We need 30 minute to several hour duration structured battles, with a clear beginning and end, with clear victory conditions, and consisting of 20 to 140 players.
We do not need 3v3 or 5v5 matches. That's too small scale to be balanced.End the tedious inventory management game.2 -

YesI say yes, I'd like to see some competitive PVP in the game. I think it'll bring plenty of the hardcore community back, it'll also provide good endgame for all of us who've got to VR12.3

✭✭NoNo, pandering to the hardcore players by making this like other MMOs is not going to stop them going just delay it a bit, try making the new players happy instead because they are likely to stay.3 -
NoIf by Arena one mean a 300 man warzone, sure.
If it means things similar to 3v3/5v5 "dueling", then no. ESO is crap in duels. Its not competetive, its not reactive, its all stun-lock dps derp. Start to balance the game around fixing dueling and it'll be completely *** up. You either go all out and change everything or keep it as is.
Even in GW2 with split PvP/PvE balancing (PvP characters are MUCH weaker than their PvE counterparts), the devs admitted that the PvE balancing was bad for WvW, it should have been balanced as PvP. When they tried to "correct" that balance they broke so many WvW builds and crippled PvE. Except of course the most obvious broken balancing that never got fixed AFAIK (such as Thief perma-stealthers, much more balanced in PvP due to lower damage but in WvW it was completely over the top ridiculous).1 -

✭YesI say yes, pvp needs a direct objective. An beginning and and end. most ppl tend to lose interest in Cyrodill bc forward camp bugs, zergs, faction imbalance and the amount of time you spend on horseback. Sure it's fun but after a while it becomes a chore and very very boring. Small scale pvp would encourage ppl to actually play the game for pvp purposes. It would also give great feedback on balance issues between each class or skills. Not to mention it also promotes a more intimate social experience between guildies or random strangers. It would be nice to view commentators stream them as well. Anyway I am all for other "options" of pvp.3 -

More Balanced will never be part of Arenas. It is like old alchemy, trying to turn Silver into Gold. All the "balancing" would amount to is many defining abilities being stripped away and all abilities basically doing the same thing with different pretty colors...3 -

If you think people complain about balance now, it would be worse if Arena was added. Imagine all the people complaining because they couldn't beat a certain team.
If they want to add anything, add battlegrounds with a timed objective. But nothing less than 40 vs 40.

Stratti✭✭✭✭✭NoArena is a wow thing that in my view ruined a lot of the class mechanics and other PvP. Believe me if you implement 2v2 etc then you see the steady stream of nerds that happen with kiddies get upset at losing1 -

But - and that is important - there need to be enough reasons to keep people playing cyrodil. That is and has to be the heart of ESOs PvP.0
