Why is insight usually the lowest value on our profiles? Is it hard to come by?

That gives me an idea. Maybe we could all be insightful and share information in a topic together. Like passing on information. Even if someone has mentioned it before, you could list yours anyway.

What one thing would you share that is insightful to your fellow player? Something that you would consider uncommon knowledge.

Me? Hmm... I see a lot of people running by crates and other lootables. I'd reinforce the value in making alt mules to carry tradeskill items, trophies, disguises, etc. Loot every trade. At least most of the time. Master everything. And if you don't like to see the loot window just turn on auto loot. That way you just have to click the containers/corpses.

Another piece of insight would be to not take people seriously on these boards. At least not when they would otherwise make you angry. Learn to laugh at it and let it go. Do not let others steal the joy from your leisure times. Life is too short for that. That goes for when you make a fool of yourself and someone calls you on it too. Don't get all defensive. Just ignore it and laugh it off. We're all fools now and then. Anyone that doesn't realize it is just a greater fool.

Saying a forum post (any forum) is insightfull is like saying a lobotomy is inspiring. Well, most of the time anyway.

Come on guys, I'm sure you can think of some knowledge to pass on to other players. We need more threads like this. Maybe we could get them sticky'd too.

Some people go through the whole game without really knowing some things. You'd be surprised how far your advice could go.

What would you like to know?

Ok how about this, when I started the game I chose 5 skills I wanted and used only those. I put all the rest of my points into passive and crafting. Seems to work well. Also doing this I can do multiple researches at a time. Got about 85% of researches done.
  • dstowenspub19_ESO
OK - here's my insight. The problems I have with the game? They're ME. Dying too easily - ah, self? did you forget about moving out of the line of fire? Can't climb to a site just over the mountains - ah, self, maybe you're SUPPOSED to go the other way, might be quests, loot, something you're missing. Just can't kill Mannimarco, Molag Bal, [***] Timber Mammoth for werewolf - ah, self, maybe you're missing something.

So, insightful me is patient and forgiving and quiet, right? WRONG. That's an important part of the game, cussin' and wompin' and cryin' and screamin' - that's how I use the insight. It's all roleplaying, and my role is... whatever I want it to be.

Guys it can be anything. Think of quick tips or tricks. Just basic concise advice for players. Or if you want to be long-winded like I usually am you can be.

I've tried to start these threads so many times, but I never can get enough people to help add information. Just little things. I think people think they're all common sense, but they're not.

The most important information anyone can ever have to improve their gameplay experience - without exception, for any type of player (PvP, PvE, RP, Potato):

Go to your /Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/UserSettings.txt
In that file, scroll down til you see the line: SET SkipPregameVideos "0"
Change the 0 to a 1, then hit Save
You will never have to worry about those game startup screens slowing your login down again.

The interesting part of your word use "trolling" is that it can be used for the contemporary cultural definition or the more traditional definition pre-internet slang.

    That's insightful. *wink*

-You can port directly to dungeons from a wayshrine without a cost.

-If you deconstruct all armor and weapons you gather, you will gain all the levels you need without ever having to make anything, and you will never have to farm materials to make things.

-If you find a buddy to leveling enchanting with, you can make glyphs, send to your friend and them to you, and you get more deconstruct credit from their glyphs then from yours, and you get some materials back. Lather, rinse, repeat.

-Any class can solo world bosses that are CASTERS with Defensive Posture. This is especially helpful to defeat the witch in Crow's Wood.

-Something that we ALL have in common is we want this game to be awesome and succeed. Some of us express this by being a fanboi, or complaining, or both,or neither. Some of us flip sides as it is convenient to do so. In order to succeed ZOS, must be able to handle it smartly and maturely.

-What fans want is not always the best thing, but sometimes is.

-Making money should not be a motive, it should be a result.

Funny thing is, it's my second highest stat.

Part of that comes from sharing tips with new players. Part of it is learning to stay civil with those you disagree with. (People seldom find flaming insightful. Though if what you want is a ton of LOLs and Agrees, that might be the way to go.)

But most of all, you can't just have something important to say. You have to present it intelligently, and always consider other perspectives when you post.

    Insightful huh.

Research from level 1. I sold and deconstructed everything until I was level 20 before I started to ask about research.

So, my insightful tidbit..... research from the start.

Join a active guild, it will make thing better.

Collect everything till inventory full.....then go research, then decon.....sell....bank....guild store, repeat.

Thanks for adding more tips guys. Regardless of how insightful they are, I believe we can all learn something. If you're one of those who thinks your ego is so big that you can't take advice, then I pity you. It's not about that. We learn from each other.

Besides, just because you have an ego doesn't mean you have to be ignorant. Here's a great video from one of my mentors.

Insightful without a specific topic, hmm, difficult.

The problem is that different people have different insights into matters, what is blindingly obvious to one person might be quite obscure to me. And vice-versa.

Which probably why they made it such a low points contributor. Rather than have people giving for points value to their friends, it still signifies that we think a person has made a genuinely insightful comment.

None of which particularly helps with the search into insight.

I think I actually lost some brain cells from watching that video. Which I'm sure that guy would say is me cutting him down to prop myself up. But I really gain nothing from saying that he's an idiot. I just save everyone else the trouble of watching that nonsense.
